Chapter 10

Lawrence POV

Biglang nabitawan ni Lawrence ang hinahawakang papeles. He is currently reading the progress of Celia’s case. Alam niya na kaya niyang panalunin ang kaso na ito. He is supposed to feel good kasi nasa sa kanila ang advantage ng kaso. Sa korte kasi kahit sa Nanay ang kadalasang pabor ng mga desisyon lalo na at custody ng mga bata ang pinag-uusapan pero this time iba ang turn of events. Walang mapakitang ebidensya ang kampo nila Celia na incompetent father and husband si Janus.

She was accusing Janus of marital abuse pero walang isang dokumento ito na mapakita to strengthen the testimony. Hindi pa nakatulong ang monthly income nito na above minimum lang. Tinitingnan sa korte kung kanino mapapaayos ang buhay ng mga bata. Clearly sa estado ng buhay meron ngayon si Celia, she is slowly losing her children.

Dapat masaya siya. Pero hindi niya maramdaman ang saya.

Lalo na kapag nakikita niya ang mukha ni Miya. 

Napahawak ulit siya sa pumipintig na sentido.

Ni minsan hindi nito hiniling na na bitawan niya ang kaso pero nararamdaman niya na iyon ang gusto nito. He was never affected by any women before Miya. He was never the type who involves his feelings to anything. He wasn’t branded as the cold hotshot lawyer for nothing. But for Miya, it was close to imposibble.

It always crazy how she can easily affect him. How everytime she stares at him he just wants to forget all the pain he went through while growing up and believe in romance again. Is he inlove? Napailing niya.That’s impossible. He never knew what love is. He was never raised and born out of love. So how can he give something that he never had at all?

Bigla niyang naalala ang usapan nila sa condo niya kahapon. He was serious about it. He never saw himself getting married before he met Miya. All this time he thought that women are all but scheming bitches. Miya showed him that not everyone can be scheming though. She’s like a breath of fresh air. She laughs and smiles about the most trivial things in life. She was never impressed with his expensive gifts. In fact, ang date nila usually ay either sa condo niya o sa bahay ng mga ito, eating home cooked meals.

So yes he wants to marry her someday. Marriage can work without love right? So long as there is mutual respect he knows it can work.  

Finally, he can finally see himself sharing his life with another person. But it doesn’t mean that she loves her.

Alam niya na disappointed ito ng sabihin niya na hindi niya kayang ibigay ang pagmamahal dito. He can give him everything that she desires but not love. He can give her orgasm every night, all the money that she needs, buy her a lot of houses, give her diamonds and a lot of things that every women desire. And yeshe cares for her. No doubt about that. She is very special to him. But he can’t be in love with her. Love is just not for him.

Nahagip ulit ng mata niya ang papeles na hawak niya. Napabuntong hininga ulit siya. Yes he cares for her but Miya needs to understand that he is a lawyer and he had this case even before he met her. Although he would like to put it that this case is the reason on why they met. But she has to understand that there are some things that he can’t sacrifice for her. She would just need to understand.
