It was December in Wakanda, Christmas is nearing for the Avengers but it wasn't a time of joy for them.

James was in Alex room, sitting on her bed in complete silence. That is until Natasha walked in.

"You haven't moved in four days, James." She acknowledged.

"At least I'm not visiting her 12 times a day anymore."

"Yes, but I think Allie wants you to eat and...be human." He looked at her, they spent a moment in silence, before he looked down at his hands.

"If anything about what Allie knows, it's that I'm not human."

"You know what I think?" The assassins turned around to see Steve walk in. "That you are mixing up what you believe versus what she believes."

James' eyes swelled with tears. "I need her, she...she makes...she makes me something I thought I would never be again." Romanoff and Rogers looked discreetly at each other sorrowfully before turning back to James.

"Look, man. I know you probably think I know nothing, which I may not," James let out a mirthless chuckle, "but you have to stay positive, positive that one day or even today she's going to wake up and she is going to walk through that door. Because she wouldn't want to see you moping around like a guy that just got dumped."

"And in desperate need of a drink. Which I am, lets go." Natasha added.

Wanda was left alone with Shuri while the others went out to drink, since Wanda and Shuri were underaged and, she stayed with her in the Palace.

"Do you miss her?" Shuri asked as she cooked a Sokovian meal.

"Which her?" She asked. "Alex?" "Of course, but I barely spend time with her as it is." She stopped stirring the dish to continue.

"How do you deal with it? I barely survived after Pietro died and I still think about his every single second of my life."

"Well, Alex isn't dead," Shuri chuckled mirthlessly, "but when I do miss her I just hang out with a friend to take my mind off of it."

"I felt like Alex was my only true friend, when your friends are gone, then what do you do. If you lost T'Challa, what would you do?"

Clint shrugged, "find a hobby, I guess. Mine is tech, obviously. It won't be very hard for you." Wanda stared down at the floor, kicking the air. "Hey," she looked up at her, "you'll be okay. Alex will be okay."

James walked in to Alex's hospital Room, noticing Steve gave her a new bouquet of flowers like he does every week, remember doing the same with Peggy when she was in the hospital.

"Alex, it's me, Bucky." He mumbled, breaking the disturbing silence. "I'm sorry I haven't visited you in a while, it's just...I feel like I get weaker every time I see you like this. I know you're being strong without me. But I can't be strong without you. Please come back, Alex. Everyone misses you, we all miss you. I hope you miss us, I just hope your listening." He placed a since kiss on her forehead, caressing her cheekbone before sitting at her bedside. "So, it's December 2, the time is," he inspecting the clock on the table, "9:15 a.m. I just came back from a jog with T'Challa and Steve. T'Challa said he could put me in the cryogenic frost until you wake up, I'm actually considering it. I never enjoyed the cryo-frost because I left you. But now...you're not here for me to miss you so it would be a lot easier. You wouldn't miss me either unless you can actually hear me. If..." he looked out the window, admiring the Wakandian sky, "if you can hear me just give me a sign." There was a nearly dead silence, James kissed her hand before getting up, leaving her the cold hospital room filled with nothing but her silent screams.

Wanda walked into the kitchen to see a broken shell of James Barnes sitting on the stools.

"Hey." She said gently. "What are doing?"

He stared down his drink. "I would think the same thing as you."

"Missing Alex?" She asked. He nodded before crossing his arms, tucking his head into them.

"Shuri told me to 'find a hobby'. But I don't think a hobby is going to fix this." She confessed. He chuckled weakly.

"Yeah. I don't think a person like Shuri could understand my thought process, no offense." He chuckled, Wanda joining in. "I chose something that will -probably- help the world." He jumped off the seat before heading towards the exit of the kitchen.

"And what is that?" She asked. He turned around to her.

"I'm going to sleep."

James chose the cryo-freeze, not only to ease his pain but also to protect the citizens until HYDRA comes. James was sitting on the metal table across from the capsule, inspecting what would be his home for who knows how long. Steve walked up to him, taking a look at the capsule as well before turning back to him.

"You gonna be okay?" He asked. James sighed, shaking his head.

"I could barely trust my mind when Alex was around, I don't know what's gonna happen without her." He answered, smiling weakly. "So, until they figure out how to get this stuff out of my head...I think going back under is the best thing." Steve nodded. "For everybody."

The scientist came back over, gesturing to the two that it was time. James stepped off the table, he gave a look to Steve before he advanced into the capsule. It closed shut, but James could still hear her. Her voice ringing though his head like an alarm.

No fear. No fear. No fear.

He reached for Alexandrine's hand, only to grab a fistful of air. He kept his hand in a fist, his last thoughts only of Alexandrine as the icy air glazed his body.

It's a short chapter, I know. But I want to put this book on hold as soon as possible so I don't mess up the whole Infinity War thing.
