Chapter 3

  Tris's POV

Toby and I have become really close. After a beating I always help him. To be honest I have a huge crush on him, but I don't think he likes me like that. Today is his aptitude test. I'm meeting him afterwords.
 
Tobias's POV

Today is my aptitude test. Whatever it says I have to leave abnegation. I've got to get away from so called father, but I don't want to leave Bea. I have a huge crush on her, but I doubt she feels the sand. I'm meeting her after the test. They call my name and I go to the test room.
 
I come out of the test room with sweaty hands. I'm divergent. I belong to more than one faction. Abnegation and dauntless. I can't stay in abnegation, so I'm transferring to dauntless. I walk out of the school cafeteria. When I'm outside I sprint out to our meeting spot and see her there. "Hey Bea!" She turns around and smiles "Hey Toby!" I must look pretty sad because her smile drops. "I know you have to transferr, don't worry." she says sadly. At that moment I realase that I like her a lot. I bend down and kiss her softly. I feels sparks. She stiffens and I pull back. She looks worried, like she's afraid she's done something wrong. I smirk and kiss her more confidently. Now I feel fireworks. She kisses back and puts her hands around my neck. I put mine on her back. This is the best moment of my life.

  Tris's POV

He kisses me and I feel fireworks. After a while we break a part and smile like crazy. "What ever you choose, two years later I'll follow." He smiles and says "I'm choosing dauntless."

  Tobias POV

I'm sitting whit the other 16 years olds. I'll miss Bea very much, but if I pass initiaton I can visit her. 2 years without her is not gonna be nice, but I'll survive. I see Bea, her big brother Caleb and their parents, Andrew and Natalie Prior. Her father works with my 'father' in the goverment. Bea notices me and waves. I smile and wave back. Then a dauntless leader, Max, starts his speech, even though some of the dauntless are still talking. I zone out until I hear my name. I get up and share a quick look with Bea. I get the knife and make a qut my palm. I look at Marcus (his 'father' for the pansycakes who don't know) dead in the eye when I hear the sizzle of my blood touching the hot coals. "Dauntless!" The dauntless cheer and hit their fists in the air. The abnegation is silent. I'm the first 'stiff' to transfer to dauntless. I take a seat and find Bea in the crowd. She looks at me and smiles. I smile back. I get to start a new life.

Wow. That was intense. Well, at least I can jump to a moving train now. "Hey stiff! What's your name?" a dauntless guy asks. I don't want to be linked to my father, so I say"Call me a stiff, I don't care." "Okay stiff, I'm Zeke. This is Shauna." Zeke says pointing at himself and then a dauntless girl, Shauna. I kinda zone out until I hear Zeke saying–more like yelling over the wind– "It's time to jump!" I quickly get up and see a bunch of dauntless jumping to a roof top. We're very, vey high. I'm afraid of heights, but I ignore the fear and prepare to jump. One, two, three, GO. And I jump. There's a moment without gravity, and then my feet hit the concrete roof. I stumble a few steps but manage to keep my balance. I feel proud.
  "Okay. If you're not an initiate, get your ass off this roof!" Max booms. Some dauntless laugh and leave. "Okay. The way to enter dauntless is this way!" he yells over the wind and points to a hole in the ground, 7 floors down. "What's at the bottom?" an erudite(aka knows) transferr asks. "Guess you'll find out. Or not." Max answers. "Who wants to go first?"
The Zeke dude steps out and his friends cheer for him. "Go Zeke!" Shauna yelss. Zeke smirks and jumps to the edge, but can't keep balance and falls down to the hole while cursing. I hear a voice yell "FIRST JUMPER, ZEKE!" And cheering. People jump one by one, until I'm the only initiate left. "Don't think, just jump." Max says. I walk to the edge, take a deep breath and jump.
