Chapter Tobias (4 for pansycakes)

(skip 2 years to Tris's choosing day)

Tobias POV

I jump out of bed. I get see Bea today. It's her choosing day. God, I miss her. I've seen her once after my initiation. I told her to call me Four, but we don't have to hide the fact that we know each other. I quickly get changed and go to cafeteria. There I see Zeke, my best bro. I also see Uriah, his baby brother. Then there's Shauna, Lynn(Shauna's little sister) and Marlene. "Hey guys!" I say happily.
"What are you so happy about?" Zeke asks. "I get to see Bea." I answer because he's the only one who knows I like her, others know she's my friend.  I then go get some dauntless cake for breakfast. It's the best thing ever. I quickly eat the cake, and leave with Zeke on my heels. When we arrive at the train tracks the train is already coming, so we sprint and jump to the train. I can't wait to see Bea.

Tris POV

I jump out of bed. I get to see Toby today. God I miss him. I've met him once after his initiation. He told me to call him Four, and his a Dauntless prodigy. He's gonna be my trainer. I like that we don't have to hide the fact that we know each other. I get dressed, and eat with only one thought in my mind. I can't wait to see him.

(Still Tris POV)

I'm sitting with the other 16 years olds. I look over to the Dauntless and look for him. Then I see him, my Toby. He's leaning against the wall, near the door. He sees me and smiles. I smile back. Marcus steps to the 'stage' and begins he's speech. I glare at him, feeling angry and bitter. All the things he's done to Tobias. He's a monster.
I zone out until I hear him yell out a familiar name beign called out.
"Caleb Prior!"
He squeezes my hand before he gets up and walks to the bowls. He makes a delicate cut in his hand with the knife and without hesitation he puts he's hand over one of the bowls. The bowl is filled with water, colored red with the blood of the initiates. What? Is he transferring?
"Erudite!"
What the gell, Caleb?
All the knowses have smug smiles on their faces, and the Abnegation are silent. Mom and dad are shocked. What am I going tl do? Do I stay?
"Beatrice Prior!" Marcus calls my name.
I have to go. Even if I wasn't going for Tobias, I'd have to do it for me. And I am. Abnegation life isn't for me. I can't keep up pretendong this is where I belong.
I get up and make my way through the row. As I pass mom and dad, I habe to bite my lip to stop it from trembling. I'm leaving them all alone.
I get to the bowls and take a deep breath.  I take the knife from Marcus and make a small cut to the palm of my hand. It stings, but not much. I let the blood puddle to my hand, and raise up between the two bowls that are Dauntless and Abnegation. A few drops drip to the carpet beneath them. Abnegation is to my left, and Dauntless tonmy right. I move my arm and tip my hand. I hear the sizzle as my blood touches the hot coals. You coyld hear a needle drop in here.
"Dauntless!"
I glance at Tobias and he gives me an encouraging smile. I smile back slightly.
Then the Dauntless erupt in cheers. The noice is ear piercing, but it makes me smile. From the corner of my eye I see Tobias quietly leaving. I wonder where he's going.
I sit down and make the mistake of looking at my parents. Mom is sadly smiling, but dad looks mad and disappointed. I feel guilty and look down.
The reat of the ceremony goes by fast.  Soon the Dauntless get up, me with them and we run out of the building. We cheer as we go down the stairs, like water, clearing everything as we go. Nothing can stop us. When we get outside and climb up to the platform, I'm exhausted. I just stand there trying to catch my breath. Still the feeling is amazing. I've never ran that fast.
I hear the train coming and red headed Erudite trasfer asks: "Is it gonna stop?"
"No", I answer him, knowing how this works. It's a good thing that I have watched the Dauntless every day. I start running and try to get into the train. A Candor transfer girl sees my struggle and helps me in. "Thanks", I say while trying to catch my breath.
"No problem", she says and I take a look at her. She tall, her skin is tan and she has brown hair that reaches her jawline. She's pretty.
I sit down and pull her with me. "I don't wanna fall" I explain to her. She nods.
"I'm Christina, by the way", she says.
"Beatrice", I  tell her. That name doesn't suit me anymore though. I need a new one.  Wetalk about nothing until I hear a blond Erudite transfer guy say: "They're jumping!" "What?!" Christina yelss over the wind. I lean outside the cart and see a bunch of Dauntless jumping off the train to a rooftop. We're very high.
"Wanna jump together?" Chris asks, "I can't do it alone.
"Sure."
"One, two, three!" We take a few steps back, then sprint forward and jump. There's a moment without gravity and then my feet hit the concrete roof. I roll away from the edge and stand up. I look around and see a Candor transfer, Peter, smirk. He probably didn't fall.
"Okay listen up!" a man with a lot of piercings yelss over the wind. We all turn our attention to him. I see Chris grinning wickedly, she's going to fit in here just fine. "I'm Eric, and I'm a Dauntless leader but will also be overseeing your initiation. If you want to enter Dauntless compound, this is the way in", he says pointing at a hole in the ground, surrounded by buildings.
"So who wants to go first?" Eric asks, but nobody says anything. Then I step up. Adrenaline rushes to my veins. I take of my coat, leaving me in a tight grey T-shirt and grey pants. I hear someone whistle and fell my cheeks heating up. I roll the coat into a ball and throw it at Peter's chest as hard as I can. Without a look back I walk to the edge. "Today initiate", I hear Eric say. I close my eyes, take a deep breath and jump. Adrenaline rushes through my veins as I fall. Then I hit a net. I let out a small laugh an then roll to the edge.
A freaking net.
A pair of strong arms lifts me up. When my feet touch the ground I look up and see Tobias. He picks me up spins around, then we hug.
"I missed you", he whispers.
"Missed you too."
"So what's your name? Wanna pick a new one?" he asks after letting me go.
I think a little and answer: "Tris."
"First jumper, Tris!" he yells and the Dauntless cheer. "Welcome to dauntless", Tobias says as a flash of black and white hits my eye. She screams the whole way. Christina. I smile and walk to the Dauntless.
