Chapter 9

 
Recap: Shauna comes in with a blank expression "So the serum that they injected them with is ..."

Tobias POV

"The serum us some sort of a sleeping serum. Chris should wake up soon, but Tris got an overdose, and she's in a coma.(AN/ I don't know if it can do that, but it can in this) There's a 50% chance she'll wake up. I'm so sorry Four", she says with sadness in her voice. I feel like my heart is been ripped ouy of my chest. 50%. The next thing I feel, is anger boiling inside me. Peter. "I'm gonna kill Peter!" I storm out of the room. I'm walking down the hall, my anger growing every step I take.
I'm almost at the cafeteria when I hear Zeke say: "Four! You look like you're gonna rip someone's head off!"
I turn to face him and say: "I am, I'm gonna kill Peter!"
"Don't bother, he was kicked out, he's a factionless now."
"Good."
Zeke looks confused and asks: "What did he do?"
"I'll tell you on the way."
"To where?"
"Infirmary."
He looks scared and worried.
"So Peter and Al broke into Tris's new apartment. They were probably gonna kidnapp her and they injected her and Christina who was with her with sleeping serum. She got an overdose and she's in a coma. There's a 50% chance of waking up."
"Oh dear lord! You go to the infirmary, I'll get Marlene and Uriah! I assume Will is there and is Shauna your doctor?" he asks. I nod and he pats my back. Then he sprints off to get them. I start running towards the infirmary. While running I think that what if this is it. What if she dies? I don't know what I'd do. I reach the infirmary in no time and go straight to Tris's and Christina's room. I see Chris already awake and she's crying.
"You heard?"
She nods in respond. I sit down next to Tris and take her small hand in mine. Tears roll down my face as I whisper things to her. "Tris you can't die. No, you can't. You're a fighter, you can do this! Please, please wake up..."
 I kiss her hand and just sit there watching her. Soon Zeke comes and hugs Shauna who hasn't left. Before the door can close Uriah and Marlene come in. Uriah has tears in his face and he grabs Tris's other hand. I'm not jealous, they have a close brother-sister relationship, eventhough they haven't known eachother for long.
"You okay?" he asks. I shake my head.
"No, you?" He shakes his head. Marlene comforts Uriah. Shauna comforts Zeke. Will comforts Christina. No-one but Tris can comfort me. We all love Tris. I think everyone who has met her does. Not like love love, but friend kinda love. She has to wake up.

Tris POV

All I see is black. I feel really sleepy, but I have a feeling that if I fall asleep I won't wake up, so I try to stay 'awake' if that's what I am. I hear voices but can't understand what they're saying. I hear one voice leave the room. Soon after I hear someone crying. Why is someone crying? I hear some comfort her. A boy, I'm guessing. I hear someone come back and take my hand. Then I hear a voice I would recognise everywhere. My Toby's voice.
"Tris you can't die. No, you can't. You're a fighter, you can do this! Please, please wake up..." Then he kisses my hand. It hurts me that he's sad. I have to wake up. I try to open my eyes but the harder I try, the more difficult it is. I'm frustrated when I hear the door open and someone takes my other hand.
"You okay?" I hear a voice that belongs to the one and only pansycake king Uriah Pedrad. Oh god, I'm turning into him. I hear a sad Toby answer: "No, you?" I can't hear Uriah answer. Argghhhh! I have to get my eyes open! I use all my power and try one last time open my eyes. I'm a fighter, Toby said so. Now, opEN YOUR EYES IDIOT YOURE ONLY MAKING OTHERS WORRIED BY BEEING 'ASLEEP'!! I yell at my self and that helps. Next time I try to open my eyes they open a little after few to tries my eyes are wide open. First thing I see is Tobias. He has tears flowing down his cheeks. I reach my hand that is linked with his to wipe them away and basically end up wiping them with his own hand.
"You're awake!" He says happily and kisses me softly. I kiss back, but soon he pulls back. I look around and see Uriah holding my other hand. He has tears running down his cheeks too.
"Uriah you pansycake, why are you crying?" I ask him.
"Tris, you might have died, I think I can cry if my sisterfriend could die", he answers. "Tris! I knew you're a fighter!" Chris exclaims.
"Oh my god, I'm so glad you're awake!" Shauna says.
"It's good to be awake", I retort.
"Good to see you awake, Tris!" Will says and Zeke nods. They all have tear stained eyes. Before I know it, I'm in the middle of a group hug. I smile. My friends are the best. I have no idea how I got this lfe, and eve thought I'm in the hospital, I couldn't have wished for a better life. But soon after we break apart I realize I have no idea why I'm here.
"Hmm, guys, what am I doing here exactly?"
"Oh, Peter was gonna kidnapp you and convince you to leave Four-", Christina starts and eventhough I'm angry I'm not the one who interrupts her.
"WHAT?!"
"Yes, Four, he told me. Then I broke his nose and slapped Al. Anyway, he gave you some sort of a sleeping serum, but you got overdosed, and you were in a coma and had a 50% chance of waking up", Chris continues. I can feel anger growing inside me.
"I'm gonna kill Peter!"
I try to get up, but Toby holds me back.
"Baby, she got kicked out of Dauntless, you really wanna go to the factionless just to kill him?"
I can tell that he's angry too but tries to hide it. "Okay, I won't kill him...jet." I mumble the last part to my self, but the small smirk that appears on Tobias's face signals he heard it too. "When can I get out of here?" I ask trying to change the subject. "Well, I'm your doctor, so if you feel alright, you can leave right now!" Shauna says. My mood becomes 10000 times better, I hate hospitals.
"Great!" I chipper and take Toby's hand. I pull myself up and feel if my legs carry me. They do and I have a little victory party inside my head. "Thank you guys so much for coming here, you are the best friends a person could have!" I say to everyone. "Hey, we love you! Plus, we know you would be there for us", Chris says, being a candor. My other hand is linked with Toby's, other with Christina's. Christina's other hand is linked with Will's other hand. Will's other hand is linked with Shauna's hand and Shauna's other hand is linked with Lynn. Lynn's other hand is linked with Zeke's, and Zeke's other hand is linked with Marlene. Marlene's other hand is linked with Uriah's hand and as a line we walk through the compound towards my apartment. I look back and laugh, because I see Uri easing his free arm around.

We reach my apartment and Tobias stops us all. We don't let go of each others hands, but we all gather around to a group. I hand Toby my key, since he wants to go in first. Over protective much? I really don't mind. He goes in and we follow.
"Hey, let's all do something together! Work starts tomorrow, so let's hang out",  Uriah suggests.
"Yeah, let's watch a movie!"
"And eat Dauntless cakeeEeeE!"
We all laugh. "Okay, you guys pick a movie and I'll go get Dauntless cake!" Zeke says.  "Sure, but bring enough",  Toby reminds. He sure loves dauntless cake.
 
Soon Zeke comes back with two whole Dauntless cakes. We are gonna watch Tangeld. It's a really old movie,  made by a company called Disney. Me and Toby sit on the couch, Shauna and Zeke are sharing an armchair, Uriah and Marlene and Will and Christina are sitting on the floor with pillows. We eat dauntless cake and watch the movie. Somewhere in the middle of the film I find my self falling asleep into Toby's shoulder...

AN/ Tangeld is one of my favourite Disney movies! Hope you like this story so far. So I will add a new character to this story, and I will probably skip to next initiation  so Six and Four are instructors. But I will be needing a girl's name for the 'mystery character'. And for the initiates. I will give a shout-out for everyone who suggests a name, even if I don't use it.
