When the coldness hit my skin it made my eyes open in an instant, and I quickly jumped out of bed with the comforter around my body wanting to close the window. To my surprise the window wasn't open and as I stood there in the middle of my room more confused than ever I heard a noise coming from downstairs.

Shivers ran down my spine and goose bumps arose all over my body as my teeth started chattering in an attempt of keeping me warm. I slowly walked over to the door as every step was like stepping on nails due to the coldness radiating off from the floor. I heard a noise once again and without thinking twice about it, I started yelling for my grandma. "Grams!"

No reply.

I yelled again, but just like before no one answered and I continued to walk wanting to know the source of the noise.

When I reached the door, I quickly opened it though the pain coming from the doorknob was excruciating. It was burning like if someone had set the door on fire, but though it hurt like hell there was no burn mark inside my palm when I let go of the knob and no fire was burning on the other side of the door. "Grams?" I tried again when I stepped outside the hallway, but just like the two times prior I received no answer and the foreign noise was heard once again. Without thinking I ran down the stairs and when I reached the floor, I expected to find my grandma. I didn't though. "Maya?" I questioned as I saw the blond haired girl in front of me.

She gave me a nod and a smile formed on her lips before she burned up in flames. I wanted to yell or scream or just do something, but I didn't. I just stood frozen in place as I watched her burn up in flames. As if she had never been there she was suddenly gone, and I fell to the floor as my knees grew weak beneath me.

"Maya?" Was the first thing coming to my mind when my eyes shot open. "Maya?" I questioned again to myself. Why had she been in my dream? I quickly got out of bed and ran to her room. "Maya?" I tried, but still got no reply. Her room was empty and when I placed a hand on top of the sheets it was ice cold. She hadn't slept in here tonight. A breath I didn't know I had been holding emitted from my mouth and fear rushed over me as I began to fear the worst. "Maya?" I tried for the last time hoping that she was somewhere in the apartment just hiding from me, but I knew very well she wasn't and I found myself walking back to my room to get my phone.

7:58am was the number staring back at me and I sat down on my bed wanting to cry. I knew Maya went out most nights and wouldn't arrive until morning, but this was the latest she had ever been out and after the nightmare I had, I couldn't help but think that something had happened to her.

Walking to school I called Maya for what felt like the hundredth time that morning. I had left her several voice mails, but she didn't answer my calls or my messages and I was really hoping I would see her at school, but knowing her it was most likely not happening. I rapidly walked to class hoping Harry was there though under every other circumstances he'd be the last person I'd want to see. And when I found him my heart dropped. He was talking to Paige and were both laughing about something I desperately wanted to know what was.

You're here for Maya. A voice inside my head reminded me, and I snapped out of my thoughts about Harry and approached him and Paige.

"Harry?" I said, but it came out more as a whisper, and I wondered if he had even heard me or was once again just ignoring me. "Harry?" I tried a bit louder and when Paige turned to look at me I knew at least she had heard. She raised her eyebrows at me and scrunched her nose. Although, I couldn't care less about what she thought of me, I was surprised when Harry still didn't seem to notice my presence and that was all it took for my anger towards him to boil over.
