Just like always, something or someone had to break the happiness in my life. It was like every time something good happened to me God or whoever thought: 'hey wait a minute she's not supposed to be happy,' and then another brick would hit me in the stomach.
It was almost mid November, and the weather had grown much colder. So cold that I wouldn't be surprised if it started snowing soon. I used to love the snow, but this year without my grandma, I didn't believe it would be the same. Since I was little, we would build snowmen and forts outside in the garden, but unfortunately that had come to an end and just the thought of it brought tears to my eyes.
I was standing with my front to my locker searching for a finance book when I heard his voice from behind. It was cold like the weather and just like always. it sounded evil.
"Hello Trinity."
"What do you want, Justin?" I snapped knowing exactly who it was just by the sound of his voice.
"I've noticed you are spending an awfully lot of time with Styles."
"That is none of your business," I told him and turned around with my book in hand.
"Oh, but sweetheart it is. You see he is troubled. And I don't think you should spend time with him," he explained. Why did people keep saying that?
"Just leave me alone."
"I actually came to ask you to the ball," he said with that evil smile of his.
"Harry is taking me." I smiled proudly knowing there wasn't a chance Justin wanted to go with me. He only had one intention, and I wasn't going to fall for that again.
"Remember-" His lips brushed my ear and shivers ran down my spine. Normally, I didn't hate people but I surely hated him. "-I have made your life a living hell once, and I won't hesitate about doing it again."
"Harry wouldn't let you." I spat unsure of what else to do. I really hoped these were just empty threats. I couldn't handle going through the same thing again. Yet there was a part of me that knew he wouldn't just let this go. Unfortunately, he wasn't out of my life for good. and I truly hated the thought of that.
Justin let out a laugh before turning his eyes back to me. "You know, I always get what I want. Whenever I want. So if I want something to happen. Trust me baby, it will," he replied, and I was being both scared and confused. I had no idea what he was planning on doing, but knowing him he was probably planning something bad.
"Tell your roommate I said hi. Oh wait a sec!" He mocked and left me with tears in my eyes. He had done something to Maya, I was sure of it, and I hated him even more for that than what he had done to me. I quickly wiped my eyes wanting to find Harry. He would make everything better, yet I didn't want him to know about Justin. He would get mad, furious even, and I feared of what might happen. I had tried my hardest to bury everything with Justin in my past telling Harry would definitely just open old wounds, and I really didn't want to go through that same kind of pain once again.
I scurried inside, escaping the cold breeze of fall. I didn't like the temperature drop that came with winter, yet I liked the snow and how beautiful everything looked covered in white. If only I could stay in an old childhood memory forever. Luckily, the apartment was warm and my body started to relax. Being around Justin had made my body tense, and the cold had only added to that. On the floor was today's mail, and I brought it with me to the kitchen. Some of it was just stupid commercials or a menu card for yet another take-out place, but one thing caught my eye - an envelope. It wouldn't take a genius to know what was inside, and I feared the large number that it would contain. I had pushed paying rent to the back of my mind, but holding the bill in my hand, I knew I couldn't postpone it any longer. The front door opened and the sight I was met with only added to my bad mood. This day just kept getting worse!
