08:00 arrived fairly quickly than Jack and Lee hoped. They boarded Air Force One and after the flight they landed at Dallas Love Field Air Base, they made their way through a assassin-free motorcade (thankfully) and arrived at The Dallas Trade Mart, where Jack was supposed to do a speech on that infamous Friday afternoon but didn't because obviously he was shot and then kept in hospital for a long period of time to recover.
"Remind me again, why are we here?" Complained Lee
"Because, stupid, I have to do a speech, which I couldn't do three years ago, because you and your little friends decided to 'assassinate' me,"
"Well, yeah, and it wasn't my idea to begin with anyway,"
"Oh, really? Then explain this to me, why did you attempt to assassinate General Walker in April of '63?"
"Because he was an asshole,"
"Or was it because you were the asshole?"
"Piss off,"
"Um... no,"
"Fine, I'm sorry, alright? It's just because I don't feel comfortable being here again after what I did,"
"If you don't want to be here with me you can go back to Washington, if you want,"
"No, I want to be here to support you, Jack it's just because I know that I pissed off a lot of people,"
"But they don't matter, do they?"
"No, I guess not,"
"Well, what are you moaning about then?"
"Whatever,".
After the trip to the Trade Mart, and after Jack's speech they headed back to the Air Base and again boarded their plane to fly back home, Lee then asked Jack:"What do you think about us having kids? Not biological obviously, because that's not possible but maybe adoption or something? I dunno know, it's just something that's been on my mind lately,"
"I'd love to, but of course we already have four kids in total from our previous marriages, I have Caroline and John and you have June and Audrey, so I'm not sure but we could maybe one day, if you want,"
"Yeah, I guess we could, thanks, Jack,"
"For what?"
"For agreeing with me,"
"You're welcome,"
"How long is it until we're home?"
"Probably a couple of hours,"
"I'm so not looking forward to the jet lag,"
"Yeah, me neither". They arrive back home, and are greeted with a not so happy Bobby, who stood with his little companion, Robert as the two of them scowled at the Oswald-Kennedy couple. Why? No one knows.
"What the hell? Why are you glaring at us?" Asks Jack in confusion, wondering what it is that they've done 'wrong' this time
"Because you two went to Dallas, without telling Robert or me, or anyone else here for that matter. Just because you guys are President and Vice-President doesn't mean you can do whatever the heck you want,"answered Bobby
"Well, maybe we didn't wanna tell you," threatened Jack
"Don't try to mess with me, John,"
"Robert, you got anything to say about this matter? Or are you gonna just stand there like a wax dummy?" Lee asked Robert, as he, like Lee said was standing still doing nothing
"I think you two should've came to us and said that you were going to take that trip to Dallas, which thankfully, Jack you came back in one piece,"
"Um, hello? What about me? Apparently some creepy nightclub owner, Jack Rubenstein, or Jack Ruby whatever his name is, tried to kill me on the Sunday after the assassination, but he didn't thankfully because Fritz's car arrived on time as it was supposed to, to transfer me to the Dallas High Court, according to Jack,"said Lee to Robert
"Yes, sorry, Lee, you too,"
"Why did you two go down to Dallas anyway? Was there any particular reason?" Interrogates Bobby
"Because, Jack wanted to do his speech that he was supposed to do on the Friday of his 'assassination," replied Lee
"Why, would you?"
"Because,"
"What? Just because? No other explanation? Fine, have it your way then," huffed Bobby as he then left with Robert, leaving Jack and Lee standing.
A WEEK LATER...
"So, are we still okay about the whole adoption thing, Jack?" Lee Asks as he recalls his conversation on the topic with Jack, just last week when they took an unexpected trip to Dallas
"Yeah, of course, Lee, whatever you want to do, I'm with you,"
"Thanks,"
"Is it definitely adoption you want to go with? Because there's obviously other options, but then again, the blasted media will annoy us to no end,"
"Yeah, I think that's maybe our safest option, I suppose,"
"Okay, if you're sure. Are you thinking of anyone in particular?"
"No, I'm not too bothered with them being a boy or a girl, either or is fine with me, what about you?"
"Yeah, same here,"
"Is there anywhere in particular you want to go?" Asks Jack curiously
"I'm not entirely sure of the adoption centres in Washington, because I've not been here for long like you have,"
"Do you want to take a drive and see if we see any?" Proposed Jack
"Yeah, that's a good idea,".
