1968, June 3rd
Two years have gone by since Harvey and LJ's bickering moment with the music, now they're both a little older but still the bickering band of brothers that they probably will always and forever be. Harvey is now 7 (coming up for 8), LJ is 4 (coming up for 5 in November), Caroline is 11, John is the same age as Harvey, June and Audrey are both aged 6 and 5, Jack is now 51, Lee is turning 29 in October and Bobby is soon to be turning 43 in November. Harvey is excited to be getting The Beatles' latest record The White Album which will be out fairly soon, he and his younger brother, LJ were of course upset like many other fellow Beatlemaniacs when the Fab Four announced they would no longer be touring after their concert at Candlestick Park in San Francisco in August 1966, but luckily for the two young boys they were able to see the band they adored dearly live with all of the tens of thousands screaming 12, 13 year old girls along with them, they went with their favourite uncle, Bobby since Jack and Lee were handling the situation of what was going to happen when Jack leaves Office after serving 8 years, and who would take over as the 36th President after him. The boys had a blast, and luckily for Harvey he got to be called up on stage by his 2nd favourite Beatle, Paul, and his 1st favourite Beatle, John gave Harvey a replica of his famous Rickenbacker guitar and LJ's favourite Beatle, Ringo gave him a miniature replica of his famous Ludwig drum set, plus drum sticks to go with it, the pair of them were ever so grateful of their heroes doing this for them. After their great experience they returned home, quickly showed Jack and Lee and then ran to their respected rooms to jam out on their new favourite 'toys'.
Today, though the boys were waiting on their uncle coming back from Los Angeles, California where he was to be giving a speech. They were excited about him returning back to Washington, he would be hopefully returning on the 7th. Two days later, Harvey was sitting on his bed in his room playing "It Won't Be Long" by The Beatles on his red Fender that he got for his 6th birthday, his guitar that John gave him was sitting in a guitar stand next to the amplifier he used for both guitars, as he sat playing he heard LJ playing his drums (rather loudly, mind you). He went into his brother's room with his guitar and started playing the opening chords of "Roll Over Beethoven" by Chuck Berry, once LJ realised the song his brother was playing he started playing his drums in tune with the music coming from his elder brother.Roll Over Beethoven by Chuck Berry (performed by George Harrison)
Well gonna write a little letter
Gonna mail it to my local D.J.
It's a rocking little record
I want my jockey to play
Roll over Beethoven
Gotta hear it again todayYou know my temperature's rising
And the jukebox blows a fuse
My heart beating rhythm
While my soul keeps singing the blues
Roll over Beethoven
And tell Tchaikovsky the newsI got a rocking pneumonia
I need a shot of rhythm and blues
I think I caught it off the writer
Sittin' down by the rhythm reviews
Roll over Beethoven
We're rockin' in two by twoWell if you feel it and like it
Well get your lover and reel and rock it
Roll it over and move on up
Just triffle further and reel and rock it
Roll it over
Roll over Beethoven
A rocking in two by two - OooWell early in the morning
I'm a giving you the warning
Don't you step on my blue suede shoes
Hey diddle diddle
I'll play my fiddle
Ain't got nothing to lose
Roll over Beethoven
And tell Tchaikovsky the newsYou know she wiggles like a glow worm
Dance like a spinning top
She's got a crazy partner
Oughta see them reel an rock
Long as she's got a dime
The music will never stop
Roll over Beethoven
Roll over Beethoven
Roll over Beethoven
Roll over Beethoven
Roll over Beethoven
Dig to these rhythm and blues. After playing the song, Harvey went back to practising "That'll Be the Day" by Buddy Holly and the Crickets, and LJ went back to randomly banging his drums in no particular time or tune. Later during the day, both Harvey and LJ were pestering Jack and Lee about when their Uncle Bobby was coming back because they missed him a lot. Later that night, at 12:15AM Jack, Lee, Harvey and LJ received the phone call that would alter their lives forever... Bobby's just been shot in LA by a 24 year old Iranian psychopath, by the name of Sirhan Sirhan!.
