Sunday, July 20th is today's date, this is to be a historical day for many. Today NASA will be sending astronauts, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins to the moon for the very first time, they started the journey four days ago on the 16th and today they were hoping to be landing for the very first time in history. Harvey couldn't wait, neither could his 5 year old brother, LJ as they both wanted to be astronauts when they were older. At 10.56PM that night, with Harvey and LJ watching in complete awe, Apollo 11's commander Neil Armstrong (famously) announces: "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind," as he climbs down the small space vessel and onto the grey, rocky surface of the moon for the first time ever.
"That was so cool!" Harvey announces excitedly to his brother as they had stopped watching the broadcast of The Moon Landing. LJ then replied to his brother:
"Yeah, it was! I wonder if Uncle Bobby watched it,"
"He probably did,"
"I'm bored," said LJ
"Do you want to go and play our instruments?" Suggested the older boy
"But we do that all the time when we're bored, and there's nothing to do. Why don't we go and bug Uncle Robert?"
"Do you mean spy on him? And put little device thingys around his office?"
"No! I mean we should go and annoy him,"
"I don't think that's a good idea, you remember what happened last time don't you? He grassed on us because we were in his office without his permission and then we both got sent to our rooms, didn't get to play our instruments for the rest of the night, which was not fun at all!" Explains Harvey as he recalls the previous incident involving himself, LJ and Robert.
"Fine! Why don't we go and annoy Dad in his office?"
"NO! Why do you need to annoy people? You already annoy me to no end and sometimes Caroline, John, June and Audrey when they come over. And also, isn't he on a trip to Cuba (again) to see the funny little cigar man with the big rocket thingys?"
"Oh, yeah I forgot. Do we have the place to ourselves?"
"No, stupid! There's obviously people hired to look after us when our dads aren't here, so no we're not on our own so don't get any ideas. And, who would leave an 8 year old and a 5 year old by themselves?"
"Irresponsible, stupid people," remarks LJ
"Yeah, that's true,"
"We should phone Uncle Bobby, and see what he's up to," the younger boy proposed to his brother (who, by the way was getting tired of listening to the younger boy's schemes to get into trouble)
"Well, I don't know, he and Aunt Ethel might be busy with our new little cousin, Rory, so I don't if that's a good idea,"
"You're no fun, Harv! You're boring like everyone else!" LJ begins to shout at his brother for no reason whatsoever.
"It's not my fault that you're bored, is it? Don't go shooting walls with a picture of a spray painted yellow smiley face with a pistol," complained the older boy.
"Will you shut up, Harvey you're being annoying the now,"
"Fine! I'm going up to my room to play my guitar, and don't bother me whilst I'm playing, you got it?!" He then storms upstairs in a huff and leaves his younger brother alone, who in turn decides to go and see if any of the Secret Service agents can entertain him since he's bored out of his mind. As little huffy Harvey sat and played "Being For the Benefit Of Mr. Kite!" By his favourite band off of their 1967 album, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" his younger brother stormed in and started throwing his drum sticks at the older boy who was needing to dodge out of the way, to avoid being hit with flying drum sticks being propelled at him from their 5 year old owner's hands in a temper.
"LJ, what the hell was that for?!" Yelled Harvey
"Because you're no fun, you're boring and I hate you!" Retorted the younger boy whilst frowning at his older brother.
"It's not my fault that you're bored, it's not my fault that you don't have anybody to play with, I don't have anyone but you to play with but do you see me complaining? No! So just shut up whining, either you can play with me on your drums or go away. You pick,"
"Alright! Whatever! I'll play with you, as long as you stop moaning at me,"
"Fine," he sighed in defeat as he picked up his guitar and guitar pick again and started playing "If I Needed Someone" off of the 1965 album, "Rubber Soul".
