Poprocks & Coke (a JFK / Lee Harvey Oswald Fanfic)

18: LJ

Jack, Lee and Harvey arrive at the same adoption centre where they adopted Harvey not so long ago, the three of them enter the building, they walk up to the same receptionist's desk, Mrs. Porter who had helped Jack and Lee with Harvey the last time they were here.

"Hi, Mrs. Porter!" Harvey greeted her with a smile

"Oh, hello, Harvey! Nice to see you again, and of course you two as well," she says to Harvey and then to Jack and Lee. Jack smiles politely at her, whereas Lee has a straight face, whilst in his own little world, Jack needing to elbow him in the arm to bring him back to reality.

"I hear that you're wanting to adopt another little boy?" Mrs. Porter asks addressing Jack and Lee

"Yeah, we are," replied Jack

"Well, I'll go and get him just now for you, John, Lee," she said as she later returned with a 3 year old boy with dark brown hair and grey-green eyes. 

"And this would be little Lee, would it?" Asks Jack whilst the older Lee eyed him with confusion

"Yes, that's right," replied Mrs. Porter

"Does Little Lee have any conditions we have to worry about?" Asks Jack

"Well, I'm not entirely sure, but I believe he may be a little short sighted, he does have glasses but he doesn't have to wear them all the time," replied Mrs. Porter. Harvey walked over to the little boy who would hopefully soon become his younger brother, he introduced himself to him:

"Hi, I'm Harvey,". At first Harvey didn't get a response, because unfortunately Little Lee Jr. Or simply, 'LJ' couldn't see his future older brother because he doesn't have his glasses on. Harvey could see that LJ was squinting his eyes trying to make out the figure in front of him, he could still see but everything was blurry, Harvey then got the attention of Jack, Lee and Mrs. Porter by saying:

"I don't think LJ can see that great, he's squinting his eyes trying to see me,"

"Oh, he must've forgot his glasses in his room," says Mrs. Porter as she then leaves Jack, Lee, Harvey and LJ to go and get LJ's glasses that he unfortunately forgot to bring. She returned and handed the little boy his glasses, they were a Buddy Holly type, with a black frame, once LJ slipped them on he was now able to see the people surrounding him and could now see the older auburn boy more clearly.

"Hi, Harvwy," (A/N: He is pronouncing Harvey's name like this because he's only young).

"What are you interested in? I'm interested in space and The Beatles,"

"I'm intwested in rockets, and I also wove The Beatles And Buddy Holly and the Cwickets,"

"Wow! That's so cool! I think we're going to get a long great!" Harvey was already warming up to his future little brother. After a while, Harvey and LJ sat bored outside of Mrs. Porter's office waiting for Jack and Lee to return, to take them home.

"I think you're going to like living with us, LJ," says Harvey looking down to his soon-to-be younger brother

"I hope so, because living in this dump has been boring,"

"I know, tell me about it,"

"How long does it take them to sign a bit of paper? We'd be here all day by time they're done,"complained LJ about Jack and Lee

"You're very impatient for a three year old," replied Harvey

"Shut up, Harvwy,"

"And you're rude as well, maybe I don't want you to be my little brother," complained Harvey now regretting that he wants a younger brother

"My little brother John is better than you," Harvey continued to grumble to LJ for quite some time, until Jack and Lee came out Mrs. Porter's office after signing LJ's adoption papers. They found the eldest sitting with his arms folded with a frown on his face and the youngest sitting smugly as if something between the two had occurred, which of course did... Harvey's sibling rivalry already kicking off and they've not even gotten home yet!.

"Harvey, what's wrong?" Asks Jack having no clue that Harvey and LJ have been sitting arguing for the past 20 minutes

"I don't like him!" Replies Harvey with hatred in his voice, pointing at LJ with disgust

"Why not?"

"Because he was being mean to me, that's why,"

"Oh, really?" Asks Jack being a bit sarcastic

"Yeah"

"Harvey, he's only three give him a break, will you?". Harvey sighs and then replies with:

"Fine,"

"Don't even try to act innocent," Harvey hissed to LJ as he glared at him. The four of them left the adoption centre and headed back home, it was mostly plain sailing despite the fact a Secret Service agent needing to sit between Harvey and LJ, to stop Harvey trying to harm his younger brother, his reason for all of this? He's jealous that now LJ is the centre of attention, but what he doesn't realise is that now he is a big brother he should try thinking about ways to protect his brother in situations not try to kill him beforehand. After they all got out of the car, Jack held onto Harvey's hand and Lee held onto LJ's to again keep the two bickering brothers apart before someone gets hurt, either mentally or physically, mostly physically.
