Chapter 4: Miss M

Normal P.O.V:

        Speedy or Roy was having a showdown with Brick, I know creative name right, and Kid Flash, Dick and Aqualad went to go and try to convince Speedy to join the team. I was stuck at our new base; mount Justice, with Karma who was raiding our cupboards. He was suppose to help me figure out why my powers were going on vacation..."KARMA," I yell in frustration.
        "Ok calm down I want you to try and control another element," yawns Karma leaning against the counter while eating some cookies. I turn on the kitchen tap and try to control the flow.
        After a minute of attempting I manage to 1) blow up the sink 2) get myself and Karma wet and 3) flood our new base. Luckily Aqualad can control water and cleans up the mess real fast. I give up training today and head to where everyone else is including our newest member Miss Martian, "So what did Tornado say?" I ask ignoring the strange looks everyone was giving me. "What? I was trying to control water and accidentally blew up the kitchen sink," I say rubbing the back of my neck.
        "He said that we needed more team bonded and that missions were Batman's job," replies Wally who was shamelessly flirting with our new recruit. "And I couldn't read his mind because he is a robot," said Miss M, while she looks and blushes at Superboy.
        "Well I guess to pass the time let's take a tour of the clubhouse," suggests Aqualad with disappointment. We tour around for a while and Superman mentions something about smoke and I do a flame teleport to the source, well kind of... I did end up in the kitchen but in the cupboard, but hey I'm not complaining my powers are starting to come back, I hope. I hear them all rush in and Miss M is freaking out about burnt cookies and Wally is still eating them. "Help," I manage to say and they came to my aid.
        "Why are you in the cupboard Phoenix?" asks Aqualad opening the door causing me to fall out face first.
        "I was doing a flame teleport and ended up here," I groan getting up.
        "At least they are working," said Dick trying to raise my spirits.
        "Thanks for the thoughtfulness of the cookies, my friends call me Kaldur," he said introducing himself.
        "I'm Wally as most of you already know and I'd trust my secret identity with you any day, unlike Mr. dark sunglasses and Ms. masks," flirts Wally. Robin can't tell anyone who he is but no one knows I'm even related to the bats so I think this over, it couldn't hurt to tell them my first name right? I look over at Robin and he gives me a nod. "Well you can call me Kate instead of Ms. masks, but the mask stays on," I say.
        "Okay well my name on Mars is M'gann M'orzz but you can call me my Earth name; Megan," she finishes smiling. Superboy was walking away, that's right he doesn't have a real name, I think to myself and was about to reassure him that we would find him a name but he starts yelling at Megan. "STAY OUT OF MY HEAD," he screams and then goes to sit down on the couch. That's right Martians use telepathy on Mars, I think to myself. Megan tries to apologize and changes the subject by leading us to the hanger; where we discover the bio-ship.
        "Want to take her for a spin?" questions Megan transforming the ship into normal size.
        "No thanks, I really have to do something over there," I say trying to get out but Megan picks me up and loads me onto the ship where I get strapped down and I struggle against my binds. Damn Dick must have told her to load me up before I could escape and I can't control my powers so I don't know where I'll end up if teleport, I think to myself as we take off. I start protesting the higher we get and the motion sickness was killing me. Yes, I have motion sickness just like Natsu.
        I start throwing up and Dick was laughing and taking pictures the whole time while Megan was apologizing and Aqualad scolding everyone. "Let me off or just kill me now," I manage to say before throwing up once again.
        "She actually has a weakness," said Wally teasing me. I notice that Superboy was looking down and I poke Kaldur and point at him before I went back to the barf bag. Aqualad just tells him to apologize and everything will be fine and to change the subject Robin asks about Miss M's shape shifting and she changes into a female version of Kid Flash and Robin. 
        I manage to laugh a little before going back to my motion sickness and then Miss M admits that density shifting is too advanced for her and then Robin cheers her up by saying Wally can't go through walls without getting a nosebleed. She shows us some camouflage mode and we get a message from Tornado to go check on a disturbance at the Happy Harbor power plant. We arrive and we get sucked into a tornado and I die on the inside since I can't move Robin takes me with him into the power plant and once I'm on solid ground I'm fine. I get ready to fight but get throw again outside and get back up once the world stops spinning.
        I guess this is an ok time to test my wind control, I think while doing a back handspring to avoid the gust of wind. "Wind command," I yell temporarily taking control of the raging storm. Mister Twister fights me for domination and I go to punch him but I hurt my fist because he is made of metal. I back away and try some fire control but I accidentally burn myself! "Wind sword," I say making a weak sword appear. I guess it's better than nothing, I think to myself sweat dropping. I go to attack only to get thrown into the bio-ship. "I can't believe there is only one suitable opponent here and she is even horrible with her power control. Where are the grown-ups?" he said surprisingly cocky for a robot.
        "Megan read his mind," commands Aqualad. She did so and did not get any reading.
        "I think Mister Twister is Red tornado in disguise, think about it; he can generate tornados," explains Megan.
        "It could be that test he was referring to earlier," replies Robin, yes it could be Tornado but why? I think as we run towards the possible imposter. We run straight into a lightning storm, "give it up Red Tornado," shouts Megan.
        "You think I'm Red Tornado! What fools I am the great Mister Twister," he shouts and shoots a bunch of lightning. I jump in front and take the lightning but it hurt and my burns got worst. The lightning was too much for me to handle and the Bio-ship went in front to take the rest of the blast.
        "Thanks, Megan," I manage to say before falling down tired.
        "You have lived? Oh well but if you engage me again I will not show mercy and kill you especially that annoying elemental brat," he said flying. Wally comes and helps me up after I clear all the lightning into the ground. "What was that?" asks Wally with me leaning onto his shoulder. "I helped Kate by putting the bio-ship in front of us," she explains.
        "You misled us into thinking that Twister was Tornado," vents Superboy looking livid.
        "She was trying to help," I say coughing up some blood.
​​​​​​​        "Take it easy, it was a rookie mistake," scolds Aqualad. Wally sets me down and him, Robin and Superboy run off after the wind robot. "I was just trying to be part of the team," whimpers Megan.
        "I'm not sure we have a team," said Aqualad running off to join the others.
        "Megan think about it, you can't read his mind and you have the ability of shapeshifting," I hint holding my sore side.
        "Oh my we forgot about you, are you ok?" she questions.
        "Yea I'll just walk over when I'm ready. Megan go show those boys to respect you, we all thought it was Red Tornado, it made sense," I say giving her a pained smile.
        She leaves in a rush and I start limping over to the battle. I'm so going to kill them all for just leaving me here, well at least Miss M showed concern, I think to myself growing a tick mark. I arrive to see Megan crushing a midget with a rock. "You go, girl," I yell taking all the shocked faces off of the crush 'man.' They look back to see a robot in the place of the man. "That's what you get for being mean," I say fishing around my pack for some bandages. "Right you were injured but your powers are coming along," smiles Wally trying to calm me down. I crack my knuckles and a dark aura surrounds me. "Well I'm going back to the base before Kate kills me," yells Wally running back to mount Justice.
         "You better run!" I shout running after him. We get back and explain everything to Tornado.
        "Why didn't you help us?" asks Megan, I have to admit I was curious the whole League would jump right in to assist us.
        "Because it is not my job to fix your problems and it is not your job to fix my problems," he replies walking away.
        "This is not so bad to have a heartless robot as a supervisor," smirks Robin. I give him a glare and Red Tornado replies.
        "I do have a heart and excellent hearing," he said continuing to walk away.
        "Sorry," mumbles Dick embarrassed.
        "You should be more respectful," I scold and Aqualad agrees. Maybe this team will work out, I think to myself as I go outside to try and create lightning.
