Chapter 7: Artemis

Normal P.O.V:
       
        I was heading back outside when Karma stops me; "I ran the blood test, you said that you started having trouble after you escaped the Fang family right?" he asks putting his hands in his pockets. "Well that makes sense now; when you got hurt escaping the wound you got was laced with a serum that was to destabilize your powers making them mess up horribly," he explains inspection the scar on my back. "Ok come on we are going to look for a cure," he declares marching off towards the zeta tubes.
        "Wait where are we going and do I need to change?" I ask running to catch up and also look down at the bikini I was wearing which was black and red.
        "Change real quick and we are heading to the watchtower," he replays typing away at a computer.
        "Transform!" I say and I was the Scarlet Phoenix. We arrive at the watchtower and Superman watches my every move and everyone else just looks at me strangely and I avoid everyone's gaze and walk into the medical room. I get escorted into a room where Bruce comes over the microphone. "Ok we are going to run tests in this secure room and find a cure so start doing random attacks," he announce and I did just that.
        I went through hours of testing which brought back memories that I force into the back of my mind. We finally found a cure and it only took three secure rooms, six fire extinguishers, two plumbers and a Superman to repair any damage. "Thanks so much Karma and Batman, I say running off towards the teleporters. "Guy guess what-" I say running over but I ran into Wally and we both went tumbling. "Anyway my powers are back to normal!" I say smiling.
        "Yes but your clumsiness hasn't changed and did they fix your motion sickness?" questions Robin holding back his laughter.
        "Whatever now that means I can soak you without blowing up the sink!" I say in a threatening tone.
        "Oh hey we have a new teammate nice to meet you, I'm the Scarlet Phoenix but you can call me Kate," I say shaking the new girl's hand.         "Wait since when?" asks Wally also getting up.
        "I'm Artemis, and you are clumsy," she teases Wally.
        "Whatever who are you?" he questions.
        "She is my new protégé," replies Green Arrow.
        "Wait where is-," I was cut off by the zeta tubes.
        "Speedy," said the computer and Roy came out correcting the computer, "It's Red Arrow now. And you already found a substitute for me?" he lashes out accusing Green Arrow.
        "I'm his niece/she's my niece," they both reply. After that point, I totally zone out but this was a weird zone out because I end up looking at Nia my little sister and she was training like crazy. But how was I seeing this? Apparently, there was talk about a scientist and Roy left but I was just standing there until Karma brought me out of it. "Yo Kid snap out of whatever are you doing," Karma barks flashing a light in my eyes and I finally came back to my senses.
        "What was that?" demands Aqualad looking concerned.
        "I don't know. I was just standing here and then my mind wandered somewhere else, but I can't tell if it was a real-life image or a dream," I admit chuckling nervously.
        "What did you see?" whispers Karma.
        "Nia, my little sister," I whisper back.
        "We will talk later," he answers walking off. I end up on the bio-ship even though I tried to protest and now we are at the lab. I finally get over my sickness and now I'm helping the doctor on the computer and since there is a mind link I could hear everything. "You could never replace Red Arrow as an archer," snarls Wally and Artemis left fuming because they had been fighting for the past two minutes.
        "Wally be nice after all she was the one who saved us from Amazo," I scold typing away. "Um Doc we need to go online to track the fog and put the virus on it," I say taking a break.
        "Oh I guess you are right at least one of you has brains but that would compromise our location," she explains looking up at Aqualad.
        "Ok we will protect you at all costs," replies Aqualad.
        "Ok Doc now!" I command typing away.
        I was still typing when I heard Artemis admiring Superboy; "Um you are some hot stuff."
        "We can hear you," scolds Wally.
        "Stop bickering please," I think shutting them both up thank goodness to I felt bad for Megan. "Hey, Doc I think I found it," I say and she shows me the same thing I found. "Ok Roquette and Phoenix have found it Miss Martian can you get the bio-ship and Robin and Superboy you are retrieving it," commands Aqualad.
        The Doc and I were finishing up when a shuriken came our way forcing me to make an air shield. I take on the masked assassin and when she stepping into the light I knew who she was, "Cheshire," I sneer.
        "Been awhile Phoenix, it's a shame we could have been partners in crime," she whines with a false pout. She throws three more shurikens and I just dodge and sweep her feet from under her. "Miss Martian and Artemis we need help here," I inform pulling out my sword. "Flame katana," I command as I swipe for her head. I start to feel weaker and realize one of the shurikens hit its mark. She saw this and chucked a sai at the Doc which I manage to block. She pulls out another sai and was charging and I knew I would not dodge in time but Artemis came and saves me in time. "Well this is getting interesting first I get to fight the legend herself but now an archer," laughs the cat. I fall against the wall next to the Doc and Artemis is shooting arrows like crazy and Aqualad, Wally and Megan came and she was outnumbered so she fled.
        "I can't believe you let Cheshire go," accuses the Doc.
        "It's her fault for letting the assassin slip through the perimeter," accuses Wally pointing at Artemis.
        "It's no one's fault and besides Megan was there too not just Artemis," I scold standing up but wobbling a bit. "Let me see if I have an antidote," I groan fishing though my pouch. "Here we go," I smile dropping the needle because my arm went numb. Wally caught it before it hit the ground, "Great now can someone inject me?" I inquire annoyed.
        "I got it," insists Wally heading for the needle but Artemis beat him to it.
        "No Mr. Clumsy I will handle this," she states and Wally just stuck his tongue out. I was poison free and guarding the Doc outside with Aqualad when we both were taken by surprise. He was attacked by Black Spider and I was attacked by Hook. I was poison free but I was still recovering and when Aqualad was knocked out I let my guard down and I was out as well. Well, that would be the case if the Aqualad knocked out was a real Aqualad and not just one of my clones. But I was still down for the count, I manage to get up only to dodge an attack from Hook one again and realize that Wally is the only one left fighting so I had to stay with him. "You know I was really upset I didn't get to see you in a bathing suit today," he flirts fending off Black Spider.
        "Really Wally now is not the time for your flirting," I say flipping Hook. Megan finally joins us and we finish off the henchmen. I hold my side and realize I over did it and Megan helps me over to where Aqualad and Artemis are. "You failed again," scolds Wally quite harshly.
I point at the mask, "Did you see who she was?" I question knowing the answer.
        "No," she replies looking guilty.
        "Don't worry her name is Jade Nguyen and she works for the League of Shadows," I say wincing.
        "How do you know all that?" stammers Artemis.
        "I'm an assassin and I have a lot of field experience and let's just say we have met before," I answer.
        "Don't worry the Fog is destroyed and the Doc is safe. Welcome to the team," greets Aqualad shaking hands with Artemis.
        "I have always wanted a sister and now I have two despite having twelve on Mars," laughs Megan hugging Artemis.
        "I wouldn't know," chuckles Artemis nervously.
         "Well looks like you're gaining experience welcome," I say shaking hand. What on Earth is she hiding...      
        I head back to Wayne Mansion with Dick and Karma was just sitting in our living room drinking tea which Alfred was happily providing. "Mindsight," is all he says before gulping down more tea.
        "What?" I question sitting down as well and Dick follows me.
        "You have mind sight, it means that you can see where you are not," he said looking out the window. "We have training to do," he finishes.
