Chapter 10: Prison

        "My strength But I just went toe to toe with Superman," huffs Tommy.
        "Congratulations, that's more quality time then he's giving me," said Superboy bitterly. "Got your inspiration sister Tuppence?" asks Superboy in a southern accent.
        "I think I do brother Tommy," she replies changing into a copy of Tuppence.
        "Can someone tell me what's going on?" questions Tommy shocked.
        "It's simple they're under arrest," replies Batman as Karma put a Belle Reve collar on me. We were all being escorted in a truck and since I was me, they had my in full handcuffs and two guards were placed at both of my sides and they had a laser pointed at me the whole time. And the worst thing is I was across from Icicle Jr. who was sending me kisses while Megan and Superboy were on the other side of the truck closest to Mr. freeze.
        "Can I have your number babe?" he flirts and one of my 'babysitters' hit him, I guess they have a good purpose. How did they even make me a super villain anyway? I ask myself as we got loaded off the truck. We enter the prison and I look around at the thick walls and internally sigh. "I am the law of last resort, my name is Amanda Waller I am not you mother, your maiden, your aunt or your friend. I am your warden and you are my prisoners. The collars you wear are custom design to inhibit your specific meta abilities, no strength, no ice, no powers. In addition, the collars can and will be used to discipline inmates, a con who breaks the rules gets one warning," she spoke pressing a button electrocuting me causing me to get on my knees.
        "If order has not been restored the next shock will render you unconscious. At the slightest hint of trouble, this facility goes into lockdown. Belle Reve's walls are thick enough to hold Superman, we know we checked. No one's ever escaped Belle Reve, no one ever will. Oh and this is Professor Hugo Strange he is your maiden aunt," she said sternly.
        "Actually I'm the prison's psychiatrist and I promise you a sincere chance at rehabilitation," he said but he seems fake like this was all an act. I was heading for the girl's cells with Megan when her telepathy came in. "Conner Kate, can you hear me?"
        "Yea but I thought the collars,-" he was cut off.
        "Custom designed to stop Tuppence super strength, not my telepathy, any way you're out of luck Kate no powers and Conner,-"
        "I get it my powers aren't at Superman's level," he mentally hisses.
        "This is great I'm defenseless in a prison full of metahumans," I say trying to break the silence with no luck. Megan got thrown into a cell and I was going to follow her when Waller cut in, "not you Fang we have to be careful," she said guiding me to an EXTREMELY secure cell.
         The next day we got let out and I met up with Megan but Shimmer pulls me aside (the girl from Santa Prisca the one that worked with Kobra) "so you finally came to your senses Phoenix and joined the right side, nice job by the way with that betrayal of the Justice League," she said patting me on the back and leaving. So that's what I did to get in here, I think to myself looking over at the fight Superboy got himself into. "Word on the street is that Cheshire wants to partner with you," whispers an unknown voice, I look around but could not find the source. I end back up in my cell, "the break is coming sooner than later," said Conner as I change.
        "Okay updating Aqualad now, replies Megan as I was escorted to the psychiatrist office.
        "Okay Kate I think your problem is you're having trouble with a family member, maybe a mother figure?" he asks hitting a sore spot.
        "It's none of your business," I almost yell.
        "Or maybe it's not family maybe it's you. You are rebelling against your mother,-" I cut him off.
        "I said it's none of your business," I say repeating myself.
        "But maybe it's because you have regret, maybe you chose the wrong side," he said and I stay silent not wanting to talk with this weirdo.
        "I think we made enough progress today," he finishes and I was escorted back to my cell. Alarms brought me out of boredom and my collar shut off and I took it off not risking not having my powers. For some reason, my cell was not opening up and I was stuck. "This is not the greatest time but guys my cell won't open, I say trying to reach Megan. Megan?" I ask in my head with no response. "This is just great," I think to myself punching the door without even making a dent.
        "Hey, you in there?" asks Shimmer.
        "Yea my cell won't open," I yell back hitting it again with a rock attack and it broke revealing a Shimmer who was being electrocuted and then she was out cold. I run over to all the action to see Superboy and Megan having a long kiss and when they break apart I yell, "ABOUT TIME!" leaving them both a blushing mess.

           It was back to school and I was just chilling with Dick when I spot a familiar face and nudge him in the side and point at a blonde and we both went up taking a picture with her. "We'll laugh about this some day," laughs Dick taking a picture and we both left.
        "Dick Kate what was that about?" asks Barbara.
        "Nothing just being friendly to the new girl," lies Dick sending me a copy. After school ends I head over to the cave because I finished all my homework, unlike boy wonder. I walk in to see Superboy and Megan kissing, "Superboy and Megan sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-," I was cut off my the rolling ball who crushed me and now I was under it. "Get off," I manage to say as Superboy and Megan laugh and Wally comes in.
            I get up as Wally starts attempts to fix the bike. "I have been meaning to ask has there been any trouble with school work?" questions Aqualad coming over.
        "Nope," I say leaning back in the air with my wings.
        "No but drilling in practices has been a challenge, but my loyalty is always to the team first, this team not the bumble bees," stutters Megan passing Wally all kinds of tools.
        "Artemis starts school today do you think she will have trouble maintaining loyalties?" asks Aqualad creating conversation.
        "She'll manage I mean how much more hostile and annoying,-" Wally was cut off by the wall blowing up. I stop the blast from hitting us directly but a wave of water sent me into a wall while Megan and Aqualad were taken down by flames.
        "Who's the enemy?" I ask holding back fire with one hand and water with the other. I try to send the water outside but got distracted by Wally who was hit with fire and then I was engulfed in water almost drowning until I manage to counter but there was too much water and I was stuck with both hands stopping me from drowning when someone hit me from behind. I wake up chained and above a pit of gas. The chains lower a bit and then they start swinging giving me motion sickness. I focus on Megan and start to hydrate her slowly but it wasn't much use since I couldn't really see straight but I bought her time and kept Aqualad awake and it drained some of the water that threatens to drown Superboy and Wally.
        "Watch out," I manage to say before getting sick again and my chain was really low now that I was almost out of fresh air. I was still keeping Aqualad awake but the fumes were getting to me and a fight broke out and for some reason, it felt like Robin was going off about not being distraught and I saw them fighting in a vent. "KATE DON'T FALL ASLEEP," yells Wally.
        "Just be traught don't be distraught," I say not able to control my thought process.
        "The fumes are getting to her and she's already poisoned," coughs Aqualad as I gave him more water and kept Megan alive. I kind of heard them yelling insults and joined in, "yea those hot dogs will never give up on their dream of going to space to turn into real dogs," I babble.
         "Robin swim later," is the last thing I manage to say before the poison takes over knocking me out cold.
Voices fill my head, "wake up breath!" they yell as new oxygen filled my lungs. I slowly open my eyes to meet Aqualad's and I sit up. "Careful we haven't got you out of the woods yet but you saved us," he spoke helping me lean back against the wall.
         "Great job the unicorns have assembled," I smile soaking Megan and Aqualad for no reason.
        "And she's still out of it. Anyway I surrendered but still blacked out," admittw Dick. I zone out to play with the water I created and start making a bunch of shapes in the air and everyone depans at my actions. When Red Tornado attacks with wind my mind clears up just enough to attempt a counteract and I fought for dominance of the current but he won sucking the air out of everyone's lungs.
          I awoke last to Karma slapping me, "hey walk it off," he said and I jump up ready for action.
        "Where are Eva and Wall-E I'm ready to take back the cupcakes," I say flying upwards frantically.
        "Get down here," said Karma pulling me down by the leg and I crash into the ground. "Drink this," he said handing me a vial of something. I drank it fast only to spit it out, "what is this?!" I demand anime crying.
        "Just joking that was brussel sprout juice but this is the real antidote," he said handing me another vial which I took a sip and then drank it down and my mind really clears. "I feel like crap," I say still remembering the spinning. "Wait where are the red's?" I ask and everyone face palms.
        "We just went over this they got away," sighs Karma heading for the zeta tubes and then Megan tackles me in a hug.
        "I could tell you were keeping us hydrated the whole time," she said.
        "Yea and for that, I'm very grateful," said Aqualad.
        "That's what teammates do," I smile blushing from the praise.
        "Who wants pizza?" asks Wally who was now free and that's when the motion sickness all came back at once.....let's just say I spent a lot of time in the bathroom.
