Chapter 13: Do you believe

*Remember this is WAY before and again I'm really sorry and sorry for not updating in awhile* A/N: Also I really want opinions on relationships, like which do you think would be best for the story: Aqualad or Robin for like boyfriends...

         Superboy and Aqualad were currently fighting while Artemis, Megan and myself watch. "Kaldur is nice don't you think? Nice, handsome, commanding, you two should totally ask him out," admits Artemis.
        "He's like a big brother to me, but do you know who would make the biggest couple; you and Wally," teases Megan and I didn't bother to answer the question about Aqualad while we looked over to see Wally stuffing his face full of burrito. "You're so full of passion and he's so full of it," laughs Megan and we join her.
        "I think Robin and Kate make a good couple," hints Artemis and I ignore her while looking over to see Aqualad getting flipped over Conner's shoulder.
         Red Tornado came down, "got any missions for us?" asks Wally racing over.
        "Mission assignments are the Batman's responsibility," he said bluntly as always.
        "Well the Batman is with the Robin doing the dynamic duo thing in Gotham," without me, I think bitterly, Karma has been busy lately and has no time for his super awesome kick butt assassin sidekick apparently. "If we can be of help," adds Aqualad as I zone back in.
        "This is Kent Nelson, a friend, he is 106 years old," said RT pulling up an image. He's old enough to be a great-great-great grandpa, I think with the respect your elders saying running through my head. "And he has been missing for 23 days, Kent was a charter member of the Justice society, a pre courser to your mentor's Justice League," states RT.
         Some friend you are! Like what the heck you're getting concerned after 23 days!? I yell in my head as Aqualad speaks. "Of course Kent Nelson was Earth's sorcerer supreme, he was Doctor Fate!"
        "More like Doctor Fake, the guy knows a little advanced science Dumbledore's it enough to scare the bad guys and impress the babes," scoffs Wally. I want to strangle him, just because there is a magical wizard world that muggles can't see, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist! Like really Wally? Where does he think I get my powers!? I mean I don't really know myself but hey I could be the next Gandolf. "Kent may simply be on one of his walkabouts, but he is the caretaker to the helmet of Fate; the source of the doctor's mystic might and it is unwise to leave suck power unguarded," said RT.
         "He is like the great priests and priestesses of Mars and I would be honored to help find him," said Megan.
        "Me too, so honored that I can barely stand it, magic rocks," said Wally and I did the biggest metal face palm.
        "Here take this, it is the key to enter the tower of fate," said RT as I pocket the key.
        "What are the chances that the both of us admire the mystic arts so much?" he questions and Artemis and I roll our eyes. He was just trying to get the new girl, typical Wally. We took off in the bioship and I wish someone would just knock me out already. "So Wally when did you notice your honest affinity for magic?" asks Artemis sounding as suspicious as I felt while I couldn't feel right now because my body was numb.
        "Well I don't like to brag but before I became Kid Flash I seriously considered becoming a wizard myself," he said full of it.
        "Muggle," I manage to mutter before getting light headed again. We land in the middle of a street because that was where the coordinates lead to but there was no building. "Nothing this isn't simple camouflage," huffs Wally and then Artemis tries to pin him with logic but he claims that mystic powers were at work here and we all gave him a 'really' look.         "A test of fate, stand behind me," I mumble to myself pulling out the key. I turned an invisible lock and pushed the now visible door open. "Greetings you have entered the key but the tower does not recognize you please stat your purpose and intent," said a hologram of Kent Nelson.
         "We are true believers here to find Doctor Fate," said Wally like a freeking six-year-old. The ground broke out from beneath us and at the bottom a pool of lava "WINGS!" I shout. I catch Superboy and throw him up so he can latch on to the wall, I grab Artemis and shoot a rope up and threw Aqualad into her. "Having trouble maintaining altitude so hot," she said.
        "You certainly are," he compliments.
        "WALLY!" both Artemis and I shout as I start to feel weak as well from flying around frantically picking people up.
        "What I'm inches above sizzling death I'm entitled to speak my mind," he defends as I tried to create water but it was too dry.
        "Both Megan and I can't handle extreme heat we need to climb out quickly," sweats Aqualad.
         "Wait we never answered the question, Red Tornado sent us to see if Mr. Nelson and the helmet were safe," I stutter my wings ready to melt off my body. I stop flying and land on the metal below with a thud while groaning. "This platform it should be red hot. but it is cool to the touch," states Aqualad.
        "Don't worry Megalicious I got you,-" we cut him off.
        "That's enough your little impress Megan game almost got us killed," said Artemis and me in sync while I threw him against the wall using the power of the wind while standing up. "When did this become my fault?" he defends trying to act innocent.
        "When you lied to that whatever it was and called yourself a true believer," shouts Artemis.
        "Wally you don't believe?" questions Megan thunderstruck.
        "Fine I lied about believing in magic, but magic is the real lie a major low," he shouts and I set him down furious.
        "WHAT DO YOU THINK MY POWERS ARE?!!!!" I yell my fist lighting up in flames with a deadly glare that made him shiver.
        "Wally I studied for a year at the conservatory of sorcery in Atlantis the mystic arts created the the skin icons that power my water barres," adds Aqualad as I cool down still giving him the death glare.
          "Dude ever hear of bioelectricity? Hey in primitive cultures fire was once considered magical too, today it's all just a bunch of tricks," he defends and my fist lit back up.
        "You're pretty close minded for a guy that can break the sound barrier in his sneakers," retorts Artemis.
        "That's science, I recreated Flash's laboratory experiment and here I am. Everything can be explained by science," he cockily said.
        "Explain my powers," I mutter so only I could hear and maybe Superboy because of his super hearing. "Let's test that theory," I challenge opening the door.
         "Wait the back draft from the lava will roast us-" I cut of Wally with the cold shoulder literally. A gust of snow fills the small pit, "it's snow," smiles Megan.
        "Do you ever get tired of being wrong?" Taunts Artemis as I roll my eyes and jump through.
        "Well?" I ask still pissed at Mr. Science.
        "String theory we are clearly in a different dimension," he replies and I consider actually killing him. I scoff and Megan points out a floating cane, "oh maybe it's Nelson's magic wand," scoffs Wally trying to be a smart as- I mean butt. Artemis and Wally both grab the cane at the same time and then they both flew up and disappeared you know the usual. We start walking around, "I don't understand Wally, it's like he needs to believe the impossible can't happen," sighs Megan.
        "Wally uses his understanding of science to control what he cannot comprehend, acknowledging the existence of magic would destroy that control," explains Aqualad. I really wish Dick were here I miss his annoying jokes, I think to myself as a stairway catches my attention. The boys fall through and Megan and I gracefully glide down only to jump out of the way because a weirdo cat boy and his friend shot at us with lightning. Wally and Nelson walk through a bell and I was too busy with the other dude to follow and they were now on their own.
         "Electric gather," I try to counter the weirdo but his lightning skills were too advanced for me to fend off, we really need Doctor Fate. We were all toast, well at least we were going to be until Doctor Fates sign finally decides to show up.         "Show's over," said Conner soccer punching the creep right in the jaw. We head out and the trip back was silent. "So Wally did you learn anything?" I ask as he puts the helmet on the wall.
        "No not really," he admits and my fist lit up with flames.
        "Wrong answer," I say and he ran away after Megan before I could commit a crime. But where do my powers come from?
