The scarlet Phoenix

Chapter 9

I wake up in a desert with a splitting headache and for some reason, I was in my fairy mode. Why am I here? Did I try and escape mother again? I think to myself standing up. I grab my phone to see it's March and not the middle of October. (So you don't get confused you lost more memories than six months of memories.) I start walking while typing on my phone trying to get a signal to check google maps. "What the heck?! Is mother testing me or something?" I ask out loud shoving my phone back in my pocket moodily. I look down at my uniform to see it all black instead of red highlights for some reason. This was bad, I was in the middle of a desert, dehydrated, with six and a half months of memory loss and my 'family' is probably hunting me right now.
        I was going to start flying around when a random half naked teenager starts attacking me. "Whatever I did I'm sorry," I say dodging him. "Fire wave," I say hitting him directly but it did close to nothing. "Sand coffin," I say trying to trap him but he just punches through and I attempt to fly away but he grabs my wing and leg forcing me back down onto the ground. He left as soon as he came as I hiss in pain my wing now useless and ankle broken. I limp over to a hill and sit down ducking when planes flew over.
        I tried to remember but nothing came to mind, but I felt like I was forgetting something, something very important, life changing at that. It was starting to get dark and I start to hear gunfire nearby and went to investigate only to find Robin, Kid flash some girl in green with a bow and some other girl with green skin. Are they after me?! I think to myself ready to make a run for it. I turn away when ropes wrap around my feet. "What is the famous Scarlet Phoenix doing in a place like this?" teased Robin dragging me over to the group.
        "No wait she is on our team," defends the martian and I gave her a weird look.
        "No way she is like the definition of evil, well her family is," points out Kid Flash.
        "Trust me," insists the martian and Robin let me go but I just cross my legs.
        "Why are you still down there?" asks the archer.
        "Broken ankle," I huff.
        "So we're a team?" asks Robin.
        "Yes us five and Superboy," replies Megan I think she said her name was.
        "So this must be his," said Robin handing over a piece of fabric.
        "Yes have you seen him?" she asks.
        "Yea but he was half naked and he's the one who broke my ankle and wing," I say.
        "Some teammate he attacked us too," said blabber mouth.
        "He didn't know who we are, I don't know who we are," said Artemis.
        "I remember Batman ordering radio silence, our team must work for him," concludes Robin.
        "How do you know our team doesn't work for my mentor?" questions Kid Flash touching himself and his uniform turns yellow and he kept turning back and forth between black and yellow.
          Everyone tests their uniform to see if they change, "you look ridiculous," I smile.
        "Quit touching yourself," burst out Artemis and I felt like they really had a love/hate relationship. I was caught off guard when we were brought into Megan's mind and she starts showing us all these memories. "Our memories can become one if you help me by letting me into yours," she said shyly.
         "My mind's all yours, don't let its brilliance overwhelm you," said Kid Flash in a flirty tone.
        "Or underwhelm you, why isn't anyone just whelmed?" I ask with Robin at the same time and we give each other a weird look. Kid Flash went to hold Artemis's hand and some part of me felt like I should take a picture or something.
         A blue hand attaches itself to my head and we start to get the memories flowing again and we all remember Aqualad.         "Where is he what happened after that?" I ask standing only to regret it.
        "KATE I'M GOING TO KILL YOU," yells Dick grabbing more bandages then needed and wrapping my ankle.
        "WHY DIDN'T YOU DO THAT BEFORE?!" I scream back. I look over to see Artemis and Wally still holding hands and I snap a quick shot and start laughing and than I get serious. "Aqualad is not going to survive much longer in this environment," I say making a sand board and then I threw up because I remember the trip here was painful.       
        We head over to find him down for the count, "call the bioship," commands Robin and just the thought of it made me sick. "Out of range, you can get him there fast," affirms Megan looking at Wally.
        "Can't I'm running on fumes, I couldn't even carry her," he said pointing at Artemis.
        "Just levitate him back," argues Artemis.
        "I need to save Superboy six months ago he didn't exist. He has no memories just animal impulse and I'm the only one who can help him."
        "The things you do for love, I'll take him back," I say joking but Megan flew off and I fell backward. "I swear I was joking but I can take him," I say making another sand bed only to almost drop myself. "Hey take it easy we don't need you passing out," notes Robin as I focus again.
        We move but slowly, "behind that rock now," demands Robin and I did as he said gently setting Aqualad down. He starts speaking in a foreign tongue. "We can't risk a firefight with Aqualad KO like this and Kate injured," he said disappearing while they talk about being low on everything. They start arguing about ninja and ninja boyfriends but I zone them out to think about Karma because I felt like I was still missing something really important even though we all got our memories back. Dick's creepy laugh started playing over all the soldier's coms and I fist bump him as a bomb blew. We get back to the ship and I collapse from exhaustion. "Hey everybody I have Superboy and he is back to normal and we are on our way back now," cheers Megan. Everyone gets on board and even our new 'pet' and when Superboy comes on I punch him before sitting back down. "What was that for?!" he asks petting the spear.
        "For breaking my ankle and wing," I pout as we take off and the motion sickness starts. Karma comes aboard and helps me off after healing my ankle and wing, "so what happened?" he asks as we walk over to the group.
        "Memory loss six months but we all recovered most of it," I reply. "What happened like yesterday when Aqualad went back home," I ask out of the blue.
        "Not much we went on a mission kicked some butt and went for milkshakes," he replies as I went home with Dick, something felt off....
