Chapter 25
Alina
"IT'S CHRISTMAS!"
And of course I groan and throw a pillow at the way too happy Sorita. It's five thirty in the morning, and I don't care if it's Christmas, or if it's any regular day. I want to sleep in.
However, Sorita, apparently, doesn't care what other people want. She wants what she wants and what she wants, ultimately, she gets. And that is why she jumps on my bed, repeatedly flinging my body side to side until I get fed up enough to just stand up and go downstairs.
I do.
Down there, I'm greeted with two other highly unhappy faces. Aiden and River. River looks ready to kill Sorita, and Aiden keeps yawning every few seconds. When he sees me dragging myself over to couch to sit next to them, he shakes his head, trying to stifle yet another yawn.
"Sorita wouldn't take no for an answer?" he questions, yawning again.
I huff loudly to showcase my clear annoyance.
He chuckles lightly, before he yawns again, however, midway through the yawn, he hiccups. The jolt wakes him up a bit more, enough to make him keep blinking and slide over to allow me a seat.
Without thinking or hesitating, I plop myself down, snuggle up to Aiden's side, and close my eyes. I'm tired and I don't care about anything but sleep right now.
"Tired, Princess?" Aiden sarcastically asks. I don't even have in me to shove my middle finger in front of his eyes, and it's a good thing that I don't because just as he says this, our parents lazily walk towards us, muttering small curses at Sorita.
"She didn't even spare you guys, huh?" Mrs. Simmons questions. I crack my eyes open enough to just look at her and shake my head.
"We're going to need some caffeine in us to keep us all awake through this whole thing, so I'll make us all a cup of coffee," Mr. Simmons lets us know.
At this, I crack my eyes open wider than before. Just how long until we can go back to bed?
"Sorita doesn't go straight to opening presents," Aiden informs River and me. "She does practically everything but that first."
River groans. "I hate your sister."
"Me too."
...
"Your sister is insane," Jeremy groans.
"Well you're the idiot who wants to get it in with her," Aiden mumbles. At this, Jeremy makes a face. Sorita had gone and dragged Jeremy and Tyler out of bed a couple of minutes ago as well.
"I've got coffee for everyone," Mr. Simmons informs, bringing two cups to the coffee table, as mom and dad and Mrs. Simmons follow in tow with more cups. We each grab one, sipping slowly. At the first sip, I feel the burning hot liquid going down my throat and to my stomach. The hot feeling in my stomach lingers for a second or two, instantly warming my body up, not that it was in need of much more warmth. Aiden is radiating heat at this moment.
"God, where is that girl?" River moans.
Aiden nods his head at the stairs. "Up. She's getting all of the supplies."
"Supplies? What for?"
Aiden opens his mouth to answer, but he doesn't have to. Sorita comes happily running down the stairs in a red and green one piece outfit that has little jingle bells attached all over. She almost looks like the Grinch, only with partial red, and bells, and a smile.
