'What?'
'Why are you so shocked?', he shrugged and I was gaping at him as if he had sprouted horns on his big head.
'No umm I mean he can't be Musa.'
'He's changed.', Zaid said with his mouth full of cuisine.
'I've seen him before, he wasn't like that.'
I was immensely shocked. He was a lean built guy, joking around in our house with my elder sister and mother.
'Life's cruel Zasha.', he said looking down at his plate.
'A drastic change I must add.', I said picking at my food.
'So what do you think about me? Have I changed?', he looked expectantly at me and I was in no mood of boosting his ego.
'Well you look more like a monkey.', I shrugged my shoulders and hid my smile.
'Whoa says the one who is a rat herself.', and laughed at his own joke.
'Ha-Ha-Ha very funny, look at yourself in the mirror you porcupine.', I faked a laugh and threw it in his face.
'Yeah Yeah at least I've got spine to flatter and you just have that nasty hairy tail.'
Ewww, disgusting.
We kept bickering until we finally managed to call it night.
I did my wudhu and prayed Isha Salah.
I hit the bed on my face and tried to sleep but it was far away. I remembered Musa and thought about his behavior and appearance. Something must have happened or I guess business stress.
Thinking of Musa reminded me of his wife. What was her name?Roohi
Or something like that.
She used be a spoiled brat. Its been two days and she didn't come to meet me. She must have heard about my arrival. Why didn't she come?
Guess that's the way she is-- or may be not.
I shouldn't jump to the conclusions this soon. What if she's not feeling well...??
I elected to greet her tomorrow morning.
Sleep draped itself on my eyelids, feeling so heavy. Amidst the state I recalled her name.
Rumi.

'Did you read it?'
After reading the contract again after Fajr I finally signed it. I surged down the steps and saw Zaid branched on one of the bar stool. He saw the file in my hand and I heard that million dollar question again.
'Yeah', although my blood was boiling still I managed it with a smile.
'Why are you sweating so much?', I asked looking at his soaked t-shirt.
'Gym.', he said fumbling with his phone and stood up.
'Order something I'll shower in the mean time.'
I ordered the breakfast and scrolled down my facebook. I saw Dawar posing with her daughter. They were happy yet he shook my little earth that day. Tears brimmed at the corner of my eyes. I heard Zaid's footsteps and wiped them off.
At that precise moment the bell rang and I hurriedly pushed down the button. Yeah, I did it.
The tray came down on the table with a thud and I looked up to witness that face again with tonnes of make up and red lipstick.
