Loopholes

Set in season 3 where Emma makes a deal with Pan to save henry.

"You keep me here, and my family goes home in one peice?" Emma questioned not trusting the teen.

Pan nodded. "You stay, they go. The only problem is if you try to escape. Then I send my shadow to kill them all."

Emma took a deep breath and looked at her family who were frozen by pans magic. All giving her desperate glances. She refused to look at Hook. She knew if she did she couldn't go through with it.

She diverted her attention from them and looked back at pan.

"Deal."

He gave her a wicked grin before snapping his fingers which sent her family home.

Emma looked at the spot they were seconds ago when she noticed Hook in the same place he had been, but he was knocked out with a gash on his forehead.

"You promised you'd send them all back!" Emma yelled, becoming furious and running towards Hook.

"I promised I would send Henry's family back. Hook isn't related to the boy at all."

Emma helped hook up before stomping over to pan and punching him square in the jaw.

"Your just like your son." She whispered in a cruel tone before walking off to help Hook.

Emma took them to Neals cave. Once there she started trying to wake him up and mending to his gash.

He groaned and slowly opened his eyes.

"Swan? What happened. Is your boy alright?" He immediately asked.

Emma nodded. "Henry's fine. Pan betrayed me. He found a loophole in our deal. He sent my family back and excluded you because your not directly related to Henry."

Hook let out a sigh, "Bloody Demon. He's right though. I have no relationship to the boy."

Emma slightly nodded before standing up. "It doesn't matter. We're getting off this island."

"But pan threatened your family love."

"He can't kill them if he's dead." Emma said with a serious look on her face.

Killian nodded slowly in agreement. "I'll help you with anything love. Perhaps it's a good thing I'm here."

Emma looked down at the caves floor. "I'm sorry.  "

"For what love?"

"Getting you stuck on this island. I should've known Pan would find a loophole. I could have been more careful. You should be back in storybrooke right now."

Killian brought his hand to Emma's cheek and she didn't move away. "Love. There's nothing for me in storybrooke. Without you there your family wouldn't accept me as anything but a villian. I'd much rather be here with you. "

Emma stayed silent for a moment, not knowing what to say. "To be honest I'm glad your here too. Now let's go find some supplies and food so we don't die before we get of this island." She added with a laugh.

Killian nodded and slowly stood up. They walked out of the cave and went to find anything useful.

The pair eventually came to a familiar spot.

That was.....

A one time thing.

Emma still felt horrible at the coldness behind the four words. And then when he had confessed his secret in the echo caves Emma had told him it was just a kiss.

She didn't see why he was still dedicated to her and why he never snapped.

She didn't deserve him. After everything he had done she still couldn't open up to him.

Emma sighed and took a breath. If they were gonna be stuck on this island together she was gonna have to be honest eventually.

"I lied." She simply stated.

Killian looked up from his feet. "What?"

"When I said it was just a kiss. Back in the echo caves."

"You were?" He asked with a hopeful gleam in his eyes.

"Yeah. I just- I didn't want to let my walls down again." She admitted looking anywhere but at him.

He grabbed her arm gently and spun her around to face him.

"Emma, you can trust me. I have no intentions of ever letting you down." He took a step closer to her.

Emmas breath hitched in her throat. "I know."

She took a step towards him, closing the little distance between them in a kiss much more gentle then the first.

Neither pulled apart until they heard someone cough from behind them.

They quickly seperated and saw pan standing behind them.

Hook put a protective arm around Emma and they both pulled out their swords.

"Calm down. I'm not here to cause trouble. I just figured you'd want to thank me." Pan said with a smirk.

Emma scoffed. "Why would I thank you."

"Well because of me you have a one handed pirate to keep you company. I guess that makes your decision between him and Neal pretty easy too huh. Funny how things work out."

Emmas jaw clenched and she started towards pan before Hook stopped her.

"Oh and don't bother searching for food. You'll have a plentiful supply as long as you stay out of my way." He added before disappearing.

Emma turned back to Hook. "Let's just go back to the cave."

He didn't argue and they walked back in silence.

Once they got back in was dark...and very cold.

Killian cursed under his breath. "The bloody demons trying to freeze us to death. In all my years of staying here it was never cold."

Emma nodded shivering. "That's not surprising."

He took off his coat and placed it on her shoulder.

Before she could protest he gave her a desperate look. "You'll freeze to death love. Just take it."

She sighed but nodded.

They made a fire and both sat as close as possible to stay warm.

Emma noticed the far off look in Killians eyes.

"What's wrong?" She asked grabbing his hand.

"Was pan right?" He asked without meeting her eyes.

"About what?"

"That the only reason you kissed me is because I'm the only one here. That I was just a second choice?"

Emmas heart shattered. "Killian I didn't even consider getting back with Neal. After everything he's done to me I can't take it anymore. I would've picked you if there were a hundred other people on this island. It's always been you. "

He looked up. There was no need for words as he pressed his lips to hers.

Emma quickly responded as her hands went straight to his neck and pulled him closer.

When they pulled apart Emma had a huge smile on her face. "That was definitely not a one time thing." She whispered before pulling him in for another kiss.

I'm sorry this was a really weird and out of the blue one shot. I've had this sort of idea in my head for a while so I just did it.
