Emma's friends force her to try speed dating, an event where you have 2 minutes to talk and then you move to the next table.

Emma shook her head for the fifth time. "No. I'm not doing it."

Mary Margaret and the rest of her friends all nodded in unison. "Yes you are. It's been like years since you went on a date and it's time for you to get back out there." Ruby chimed in.

"It has not been years!" Emma said defensively.

Regina narrowed her eyes. "Ok so when is the last time you went on a date."

Emma stumbled for words for a moment. "Well I don't know. Probably like a few months, last year, the year before that..... I don't keep track!"

Mary Margaret and the rest glared at her. "Your going! If you go then we'll stop bothering you about dating someone."

Emma considered their preposition for a moment. She could go to one dating event and the shit her friends gave her would end, or they could continue to harass her until she caved in months later.

Ultimately she decided to go.

So on the night of the event she put on a nice dress and walked to the small bar that was hosting the event.

She instantly regretted her decision when she walked into the bar.

You could almost smell desprateness radiating off of everyone.

For a moment Emma almost turned back. Her friends would never know if she bailed.

But then she saw the man at the bar.

His raven colored hair was ruffled perfectly and even with a large distance between them she could see his sharp defined jaw that could probably cut something.

Following a sudden impulse, she walked further into the bar, hoping the man would be apart of the event.

Emma sat down and ordered a drink to ease her nerves and fill her with some liquid courage.

As more people filed into the bar, the event started. The guys were all sat at a table and the women would switch each time the bell rang.

Grudgingly Emma walked over to her first date.

He was a rather large man with unruly hair and an unattractive face.

The moment he saw her his mouth twitched into a creepy smirk that made Emma's skin crawl.

"Hello there." He said with a pathetic attempt at a wink.

Emma gave a slight smile and greeted him.

"What brings a pretty girl like you to a dating event. You must be crazy or something."

Emma frowned. "Not crazy. I just don't have time to date."

The man chuckled and slapped his knee to emphasize it. "That's a good one. 'Don't have time to date'. Hah! What are you too busy doing the laundry?"

Emma face contorted into a scowl of disgust just looking at the vile man.

"No acually. Too busy working as the Sheriff." She replied with sarcasm dripping from her tongue.

The man narrowed his eyes at her and shook his head.

"Where has this country gone. Letting a small women work as a sheriff. Stupid as hell."

Emma grabbed her drink and chugged it all in one gulp before slamming it down on the table and standing up from the table to get a new drink in time for the next 2 minutes.
