Midvale

Alex and Maggie have been together for a little more than a year. Maggie has met Alex's mom a handful of times during the year and 4 months that they have been together but she has yet to be taken to Midvale. Alex is on mandatory 2 week leave from the D.E.O because Jon'n thinks it's time for her to take a break, she's been working too hard the last couple of months. Alex convinced Maggie to take 2 weeks off for the same reason and she's whisking her away to Midvale for the 2 weeks to relax and worry about nothing. Alex is currently packing her bikini and wet suit when Maggie comes into Alex's bedroom which is now theirs since Maggie moved in 6 months ago. Maggie walks up behind Alex who is standing at the foot of their bed packing and wraps her arms around Alex's waist.

Ma: Hey Beautiful

Al: Hi babe

Ma: You almost done?

Al: Yeah, why?

Ma: I'm getting hungry and would like to take my lady out to eat

Al: Ok, just give me 5 minuets. I just have pack up Riley's stuff then we can go. You packed Lexie's stuff up right?

Ma: Yeah babe the dog is all packed, you just have to pack our daughters stuff

Al: Ok

Ma; I'll go grab Riley and get her ready then we can go

Al: Ok

Alex packs Riley's stuff and. Maggie gets Riley ready then the three of them head out for lunch. They are leaving for Midvale at 11pm tonight so they get there at 6am. After they eat they take Riley to the park after stoping home and grabbing Lexie. They spend a few hours at the park trying to tire Riley and Lexie outdo they sleep the whole way to Midvale. They grab pizza on the way home and have a quick dinner before putting Riley down for the night. Alex is sitting on the couch watching N.C.I.S. when Maggie comes down and sits next to Alex and snuggles into her side.

Al: (looks over and smiles) Hey babe

Ma: Hey

Al: Did she go down ok?

Ma: Like a brick

Al: Good, this will be a long drive for her

Ma: Well she is 5 babe

Al: I know and I couldn't love your 5 year old anymore

Ma: She's yours too babe

Al: I know, but legally yet

Ma: Soon babe soon

Al: (kisses Maggie) I know

Ma: Good

Alex ends up falling asleep shortly after and Maggie lets her hence she is the one driving but she is shortly behind Alex. Alex's alarm goes off at 10:30 pm that she set earlier in the day and her and Maggie start packing up Alex's Mustang then get Riley and Lexie in the car and head out to Midvale. 6am rolls along just as Alex is crossing the Midvale town line. It's another 15 minuets till they reach the house where they find Eliza waiting on the porch for them drinking coffee. They unpack the car with Eliza's help after putting Riley down in Kara's room to sleep and Lexie is there with her. They separate the luggage and Alex and Maggie go walk out and sit on the deck watching the sun come up over the beach.

Ma: (kisses the back of Alex's neck) I love you

Al: I love you too, I'm glad we finally had the time to come up here

Ma: Me too

Al: I can't wait to show you Midvale babe

Ma: Me either, I'm sure I'll love it

Al: Me too

Alex goes surfing every morning while they are there and Maggie is just more amazed at her girlfriend then she was before. Maggie was going to wait to propose till their anniversary in a few weeks but now just feels like the right time. Eliza has known about this and is so happy, so one morning Alex is out surfing and Maggie is down on the beach watching her and Eliza is playing with Riley on the deck. Alex comes out of the water finally and comes up to Maggie and kisses her. Eliza is watching the 2 knowing what's going to happen. Maggie reaches into her sweater pocket and pulls out a black box and Alex gasps as Maggie smiles up at her. Maggie takes a deep breath, here goes everything.......

Ma: You are the one that I wanted to find, to tell that I need you all my life. Having you by my side is what completes me Alex. You taught me the real meaning of love and there is no way to thank you for that. You bring out the best of me no matter what everyone else in my past has said. I would rather face one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone. I love you simply because you are my life. I love you the same way I learned how to ride a bike, frightened but reckless. Life is hard, I know, our jobs are hello know. I accepted that a long time ago, your in danger and so am I but I wouldn't want to get out of it with anyone other than you Danvers.I planned on doing this on our. anniversary but now just seems like the right time. I just have one important question to ask you (gets down on one knee, opens ring box) Alexandra Danvers! Will you Marry me?

Al: (Crying, shakes head) Yes of course Yes

Ma: (gets up and puts ring on Alex) I love you (kisses Alex)

Al: I love you too...... forever

Alex looks up and sees her mom smiling down at them and she gets a rush of pride from her mom that's long over due. Alex and Maggie walk up to where her mom is standing and Eliza hugs Maggie then Alex. Eliza is smiling the biggest smile that Alex has seen since Jeremiah first disappeared. Eliza looks at her eldest daughter and just can't stop smiling.

El: I am so happy and so proud of you Alex. This is everything that I've ever wanted for you. I wanted you to be successful at whatever you did and fall in love with someone that treated you like you were their world and Maggie does that. Welcome to the family Maggie (smiles)

Al: (hugs Eliza) Thanks Mom

Ma: Thanks Eliza

El: I can't believe my baby girl is getting married. I've been waiting for this since you were born

Al: Me either mom, but I couldn't ask to marry a better person. Maggie brings out o side of me that I never thought I would see and I owe her everything for that

El: I know, I see it Alex. I missed that side of you too

Al: I know, and I'm sorry for all the trouble that I've caused you since dad left

El: It's ok Alex, you didn't know how to cope, and Kara wasn't much help for you because you had 13 years of memories with your father before Kara came along.

Al: That's still not an excuse for the things that I did, especially in college

El: I know but I forgive you Alex

Al: (lightly crying) Thank you (hugs Eliza)
