Alex and Maggie have been broken up for a few weeks, Alex wants kids and Maggie does't. Maggie was hurt about this and broke things off with Alex before things got worse or they got more involved. Alex and Maggie were together for 2 1/2 years, one thing that Alex has found out about her self in the last few weeks is that maybe Maggie was right when she said "some notion of having a child" Realistically having a kid is not a good idea in the line of work that Alex does and as much joy and love having a kid would bring her it's not worth quitting her job or sidelining herself to her lab and not out in the field, she is a field agent and Kara's protector first. Alex wakes up every morning knowing that she might not make it to the next day and she made peace with that a long time ago, she knows the risks of her job and doesn't want to put a kid through that. She knows what it's like to lose a parent at a young age and it's not something that she would wish on anyone, she also knows what it's like with one parent gone and the other putting all their grief into over pressuring the child and she doesn't want that. A life with Maggie and without kids is more than enough for Alex, she's fine with settling to being an aunt. She knows that she has come to this decision a little too late but she can only hope that Maggie could someday forgive her. Maggie is worth giving everything up for but Alex knows that she would never ask that of her, Maggie knows that her job means too much to Alex. A few more weeks roll by and Alex has finally made her decision and gets up out of bed and hops into the shower. She gets dressed in black ripped skinny jeans, white button up, black leather jacket, black biker boots. She puts jell in her hair that she recently cut it all off and has the sides and back shaved off then grabs her keys, helmet and stuffs something into he pocket heading out to her bike to drive to station knowing that Maggie is there hence it's 8:00 at night and she's working till 8:15. She also knows that Maggie has recently been promoted to lieutenant of the N.C.P.D. Science division so she has her own office. Alex speeds the whole way there her heart pounding in her chest wondering if she is doing the right thing or making the biggest mistake of her life.

Alex's bike comes roaring into the parking ramp and she parks her bike next to Maggie's then locks her helmet on her bike and heads into the station. She ignores all the stares that she gets from Maggies coworkers and walks right past them ignoring every single one of them and walks straight into Maggie's office to see her standing up and putting her leather jacket on getting ready to leave so she slams the door behind her as she walks in to make her presence known. Maggie jumps at the sound and looks to the door and gasps at the sight of Alex then speaks up...

Ma: I'm late for drinks with my date

Al: (walks a little further into the office) Yeah, You'll be missing those

Alex walks over to Maggie and grabs her by the sides of her leather jacket and kisses her hard and hers Maggie sigh into the kiss

Al: I love you

Ma: And a good day to you too Alex

Al: I love you, I'm willing to do whatever I have to to be with you, Ride or Die Maggie, I'm all in

Ma: Alex... Stop..... (gets cut off)

Al: I know you heard what I said about wanting kids to Sam, I understand why you broke up with me and I love you for it. But I realize now that the most important thing to me, what I want the most is to be with you

Ma: So, now you don't want kids?

Al: I want you more, you are the nonnegotiable there's no version of life without you that I want. Me having kids is not worth my job or losing you Maggie, you were right when you said it was some notion that I wanted a kid. Maybe in some other life I wanted a kid but the life I want is with you and if that means no kids then I'm perfectly ok with that. Your the love of my life and there's no way in hell I'm letting you go not without one hell of a fight

Alex gets down on one knee and grabs the ring box out of her pocket containing the engagement ring that she was going to give her on their anniversary before they broke up.

Al: Will you marry me Maggie Sawyer?????

Ma: (crying, laughs)Yes

Alex puts the ring on Maggie's finger smiling up at her now fiancé and Maggie drops to her knees and kisses Alex hard. Alex wraps her arms around Maggie deepening the kiss and lays her down on the floor following after her. Alex and Maggie both know that they have a lot to talk about but there is a time for that and now is not that time, now is the time for them to bask in in glory that is the one that they love with everything that they have. Alex and Maggie spend a while on the floor just making out with each other when Alex finally pulls away she lays down on Maggie's chest and is making circles on Maggie's exposed hip bone with one of her fingers. Maggie looks down at her and smiles at her and kisses her on the head causing Alex to smile.

Ma: I love you too Alex

Al: (smiles) I know

Ma: Good

Al: We have a lot to talk about

Ma: I know, but can we go back to you place and just be us. Can we talk tomorrow? I just want to spend the night cuddling my Fiancé.

Al: sure thing Mags

Ma: ok, come on let's. go home

Al: (smiles) Home it is Lieutenant Sawyer

Ma: (bites lip) Get your ass moving Assistant Director danvers

Al: With pleasure

Alex gets up off the floor and helps Maggie up then waits for Maggie to grab the rest of her stuff then grabs her hand and they walk out of the office. They ignore everyone on the way out and hop on their bikes and head to Alex's place where they just coexist as a couple and enjoy the fact that they are now engaged, neither of them could imagine marrying anyone else.
