Little Blue Baby Part 2

Zoe's POV
Alfie passed our child over to me. I tear rolled down my eye. "I wish you were still here" I sniffled. Me and Alfie locked eyes for our eyes to be soon placed on the baby again.
Can you imagine, carrying this baby, feeling it kick and move inside you, to then see it in person, but for it not to be doing anything at all. It's just a horrible thought.
After about an hour of holding this beautiful tiny blue human I gave her back to Alfie before giving her back. Giving my child away...
I immediately decided to think of a name.
"Alfie" I say quietly.
"Yeah gorgeous?" He says smiling at me.
"I think we should name her now" I say.
"What about Evelyn it means 'wishes for a child'" Alfie says smiling at her.
"I love it! And it's true and means so much because we wish for her to be here..." I trail getting quieter towards the end.
A tear rolls down my eyes.
Alfie pulls me in for a hug. I hold the baby's hand and then the doctor comes in.
"Are you ready?" He says coming to get her.
"Can we have 2 minutes?" Alfie says.
"Okay" he leaves.

Me and Alfie had this child for 1 hour and we just couldn't part. Then something really weird happened.

"Alfie did you just see that?" I say looking at Evelyn.
"See what?" Alfie says confused.
"She moved her arm" I say shocked.
"I think you need some rest. Ill take her off you and you get some sleep" he says reaching for her.
"No Alfie I'm being serious" I say pulling away.
"Zoe she isn't with us anymore" Alfie says quietly.
"I kid you not Alfie she moved" I swear I saw her move her arm! He doesn't believe me but I know what I saw!
"Zoe..."
"NO Alfie she did!" A tear rolls down my eyes as I couldn't believe he wasn't believing me.
Just at that moment I heard a really loud gasp.
I looked down and she was moving even more but choking on Air.
I cried.
"Alf!" I say tapping him.
"Get a doctor!" I cry.
He runs out and the next moment the doctor runs in grabbing the baby. He puts it in its cradle beside me and attaches it to loads of machines. Just then more doctors came poring in and started doing things with the baby.
I looked at Alfie. I didn't know how to feel. Was I scared? Was I relieved? Happy? Upset? I was feeling so many emotions.
"It's going to be okay gorgeous" Alfie reassures me placing his hand on mine. After about 20 minutes of this they left and one doctor stayed in.
"So, you baby has just had a life after death experience. We must of got mixed up, we thought it was dead but it turns out it didn't have enough air and was stabilised into a coma. We are sorry for this but just know she is okay now. " he says jotting some things down on a notepad.
"Can we take her home?" Alfie asks.
"Well, MABYE possibly tomorrow. But it depends because she is on a life support machine. So she is getting load of air and practicing to breath. So we will need to see how she is tomorrow." He says smiling.
"Okay thanks" Alfie says.
He left and about 2 minutes later a midwife came in.
"Can we offer you any dinner Zoe?" She says with a notepad.
"What is there?" I say.
"Chicken dinner, Chicken spicy noodles or a jacket potato" she says.
"Can I have chicken dinner and a drink of water please" I say.
"Yeah any pudding" she asks.
"No thank you" I politely say smiling. And with that she leaves.
"I'm going to go and get a drink of coffee and a sandwhich. Do you want anything?" Alfie says.
"No im good thanks babe" I reply.

Now it was just me and Evelyn. I carefully got out of the bed and looked at Evelyn. Her beautiful eyes and her mouth and nose. She was so small. I could only take notice in the fact her chest was moving. I couldn't believe it at all. I leaned down and placed a kiss on her head.
I love you.

Then Alfie and I had our dinners about 20 minutes later.

I still couldn't believe she was alive...
