I relate to Simon...

...with what he said about his parents making a huge deal every single time he does anything new.

But sometimes it's not even new. Sometimes it's something I've been doing or something I have (or have not) been for months. I'm around them all the time, and they tease me about being unobservant, but they never notice anything about m until I say something about it. I know it's partly on me, because I'm usually pretty quiet around my parents, but you'd think I wouldn't have to keep telling them everything. You'd think they'd just pay attention.

Also, why is my changing such a bad thing?  Why do I have to always be what I was a couple years ago? Why do I have to be the same person I was a couple days ago? Why can't I just make a change, and they just accept it?

I understand it would be strange. But would it be so strange if everyone just knew to accept changes? If more people knew it's okay to change?
