37 | Chapter XXXVII - Streaming Tears Which Bring Shame

"You son of a b*tch," I laugh as he wraps his arms around me. "Where is everybody else?" I ask as I take a good look at him.

"Not here." He silently shushes me as he looks around. "What's happening? I haven't been informed on whats currently going on."

Just then, Alek and Em meet us in the middle what almost resembles a courtroom as I sense things are about to get just a tad ugly.

Alpha Anaka walks over with a smile that completely shows how happy he is. He takes a good look at his son and takes his hand - shaking it formally with a large smile on his face.

"Welcome back James."

I stare at him unknowingly, why on earth would he introduce himself to me as Jay? The nickname works, yes. But I am in need of a whole load of explanations.

"Excuse me, but can I restore order here!" An older man shouts to us, immediately pissing me off - I'm concerned I may have anger issues after all of this.

"Marcellus, calm. There is no conflict here," Alpha Anaka shushes him, radiating his power throughout the large hall. I can feel it - yet it doesn't affect me. None of them have control over me, I am more powerful than all of them.

And that's why you need to become Queen.

I sigh at the thought, I don't want to do this without Hunter. I needed his opinion, I've barely seen him twice while I've been here. Alpha Anaka notices my inner conflicts and speaks to me more privately at the side.

        "I shouldn't allow this, but I am going to allow you to make up your mind. If you want to be with your mate I can allow safe passage out of the kingdom with him secretly. But if you are to become queen, you would be fulfilling your destiny - and I would make sure with every inch of power than consumes me that your mate would be protected in the grasps of our kingdom." He sighs.

         "The elders would not approve if I were to allow him to stay here while you were married to James." He places a hand on my shoulder and allows me to walk out of the large hall, Jay following me from behind.

       "Cece!" He shouts, "can we talk about this?" He shouts after me once we reach a more private area.

        "I know this isn't exactly ideal! There's a reason I didn't come back after you saved us from Catori, but Cecelia - think of how much worse this situation could've been! I mean look at me, I'm a catch." He winks, before allowing his expression to fade away as I drill an angered look into his forehead.

      "I'm kidding but still, I need your help Ce, it's Saorsa - she didn't get into the kingdom which means she could be in danger."

      "Is she the h-" Jay cuts me of as he pushes me into a room.

       "Half wolf- half human that's also Batial wolf property? Yes, she is." He pulls his hands through his freshly cut whitish-blonde hair. Jay looked tired in all honestly, and I was grateful that he was here. The marrying part however, was something I was going to have to think seriously about.
