My breathing deepens. My soul dispatches.

I know I don't have long, every breath draws heavier, every second like a sunrise and sunset at the same time. I can feel myself slipping away - like a golden feather in the wind.

She thinks she's bested me, she thinks she's won.

But she hasn't.

She blames me for what she has became, but she is right. It was my heart of vengeance that made us who we are, what we are, and who we are to become.

Though I cannot take responsibility for what she became because of her unwanted power, her revenge got the better of her because she was weak.

Her desire for blood outdoing that of a wolf.

My breathing starts to slow further. It will be any minute now. I'm finally going to die. My weak hands clutch the grass beside me, the green drained and replaced with the red of innocents.

After twenty years on this pitiful, spiteful world I was brought into. Painfully I will leave in peace. The regrets of not completing my prophecy stinging my slowing heart.

I know she will be furious, and she will try to destroy me again like she has today, but she will never know the truth, and the ruthless sacrifices that came with it. The lies, and the truth it was forced to seek out. The darkness in her, which engulfed the light.

I will cherish the day that I can be at peace with her, that my family can finally be restored and safe from harm. Where a natural order will occur, when children can lie safely in their beds knowing the monsters they are told about aren't real any more.

It will take a thousand years, but I will be back.

And this time,

I will fulfil the prophecy bestowed upon me by the moon goddess herself. I, will unite the kingdom of my children, and protect them from her wrath.

And as my entire body goes numb, I shut my eyes for the very last time.
