Friends With Aaliyah Mendes

The drive to Canada

Skylar's point of view:

My mom and I are moving to Canada. Yay! I get to leave my whole life behind and my one friend.

Monday morning: I wke up to the lovly voice of y mom screaming, " Sky we're leaving in 5 everything is already in the car. come on!" I shouted back " coming." Around 830 am we started driving. 

My mom looks at me and asks if i'm okay? i'm not really but I did not want her to know so I put on a fake smile and said, " yeah Canada is a new start, it has beautiful views and I hear that Canadians are really nice!" I look at my mom and she starts laughing. She added on " well we still got a good 4 more hours to go, how about some music?" I smiled so she turn on the radio and the second I hear " confessing, confessing yeah..." I scream the loudest I could,my mom almost got into a car crash! She thought I was in pain and or danger so she stops the car and pulls over. 

 I look at her like shes crazy then I ask her if shes okay? she yells " Skylar Aaliyah lynch! what is wrong with you? I said " nothing. did you not hear the music mom it's Shawn Mendes!" she looked at me like her head was about to explode but she said nothing. She turned the car back on and started to drive again. After 3 and half hours of driving we are in Canada! but we still have 20-30 mins to kill before we get to our new house.

Around 2pm we finally get to the new house. I jumped out of the car and ran into the house. I was speechless it's beautiful, amazing and huge! 

Then I hear my mom, she's yelling from the car, " Skylar you need to help me caring all these boxes in before you see your room!" My smile turned into a frown real quick but I ran back outside to help her. 

 After we got all the boxes inside my mom and I look at each other and laugh. She finally says " Sky thank you for all of your help. Tonight and tomorrow all these boxes will be gone." I smiled and looked at her and she added " and yes you're going to school tomorrow." I give her a little bit of a death stare but she did not care. Instead of saying anything to me she walked right passed me and went up the stairs. 

I asked her where was she going? she smiled at me and said " To your room." I look at her and started to run up them. We got to my room and opened the door and as soon as I saw it I fell in love! It was a dark and light purple color with dark brown hardwood floors. I run into the room and jumped on the bed and whispered to myself " maybe Canada is not that bad." 

After enjoying my room for a couple mins my mom said " I'm going to start unpacking boxes from down stairs. Do you want to start grabbing some of your boxes and start to work on your room? I smiled and ran down stairs to grab some of my boxes! After unpacking half of my boxes my room was filled with lights, posters, and instrments, but looked pretty simple at the same time.

While I was making my bed my mom knocked on the door (even though it was open) I looked and at her and I saw she was holding a huge box labeled " Sky's music" I smile at her and she handed me the box while saying " if you open the box I think you will love what's inside of it."

I put it on my bed and opened it. Inside was my stereo and a couple of my favorite albums from my favorite bands. 

Even after I opened the box my mom was still standing there so I started to pull out out the stuff inside of the box. I pull out of 2 cds and I was look at them and one said " Handwritten" by Shawn Mendes and the other one is " Illuminate" by Shawn Mendes. My mom hugged me and said " I remember when you used to dance, singing and laugh to all of his songs and you did it like no one was home" I laughed and said back " mom I still love Shawn and I remember all those good times but its only been a couple weeks since I have not listened to him on repeat" she added " yeah. you stop listening to it right after I told you we were moving." After she said that I did not know what to say since she was right. I was afraid of the move and I did not know how to handle it. After a couple mins in awkward silence my mom finally said " dinner will be ready in about 30 mins" then she left to go down stairs. for the rest of the night I ate dinner, watched some Youtube, and then got ready for bed. For the whole night I could not stop think what will school be like tomorrow?
