Partners For a Project

Sky's point of view

For my first day of school it was amazing! I was in my last class, social studies. I was sitting next to Aaliyah. My teacher kept aking about a project that we could pick partners for, and how we were going to be starting it in class very soon.

Before we got to pick our partners he was explaining the project. He said, " Each group will have research history about a specific place in Canada and North America." Then he added to that, " Places like Toronto, Quebec, New Jersey, New York and so on."

The only bad thing was he got to pick the place we had to research. After he was done talking Aaliyah turned to me and asked, " wanna be partners?" I said "Sure!"H

After school I was outside waiting for my mom and Aaliyah came up to me and said jokingly, " hey is the new kid to cool for the bus?" I laughed and said back to her, " Hey. Are you too awesome to not take the bus?" We both laughed and I added, " Tomorrow and probably for the rest of the year I will be taking the bus, but my mom did not have work today."

She said " oh, but hey are you exited to find out and start working on the history place thing for social studies tomorrow?" I put a huge smile on my face and yelled " yes! Hopefully we get Toronto!" she chuckled and said, " Wow I did not think you would be so happy for a school project." I expressed that I was not. I just really wanted Toronto. I saw my moms car down the street from the school so I said we said bye to each other.

Before I got into my mom's car Aaliyah ran up to me and said " hey do you want to talk tonight about homework or just talk?" I smile at her and said happily " that would be great!" Aaliyah handed me her phone and I did the same.

I got into the car My mom saw Aaliyah and asked who she is? I wanted to scream out, " That's Aaliayh Mendes! Shawn Mendes's sister, but I did not I just said, " that's Aaliyah we have a lot of classes together and she helped me out this morning."

We finally got home and I ran up straight to my room, fell on my bed. I got up, sat at my desk and got my math and science homework out.

After homework I was bored out of my mind. I was sitting on my bed on my phone and all of sudden I looked up and glared to the right side of my room. I saw my stereo with my cd case near it, so I got up placed my phone in my back pocket of my jeans and ran over to my stereo. I have about 10 cds so I was flipping through them and I saw "Handwritten" so I put it in and started to dance, sing and jump everywhere to " Stitches", " I Know What You Did Last Summer", " Life of the Party" and least but not last "Something Big." In the middle of me dancing to " Something Big" my mom walks into my room and just watches me.

She tapped me on my shoulder, so I turned around and saw her, so I turned the stereo down and asked her, " What's up?" She smiled at me and said, " its so good to see you having fun with music again. I have not seeing you really singing or even listen to music for a good month." I smile at her and said back, " yeah... I think I will get back into listening to music more often its just great."

My mom hugged me and said, " i'm sorry. The real thing came up here for was to tell you i'm making spaghetti for dinner tonight and it will be ready in about 15-30 mins." I nodded and she walked out. As she left my room I checked my phone and I saw a text from Aaliyah and it said,

Aaliyah: "Hey Sky what's up?" I texted her back and said,

me: " nothing much. What about you?"

Aaliyah: " Not much at the moment, but I wanted to see if you could hang out over the weekend and try to work some of our project in there?" As soon as I read the text I heard my mom screaming " Skylar dinner is ready" so I text back Aaliayh quickly

me: " sure that would be awesome but I have to go to dinner right now so can I text you back in a little to talk about the weekend and our project?" After I sent that I tossed my phone on my bed and ran down stairs for dinner.
