Chapter 1: Old Friends

One dark and rainy night, Cherry was out walking the streets of her hometown. She had done this almost every night, no matter what the weather was. It happend to be on this night that something was off. Cherry was peacefully walking down a path with the street lights blazing high above her. She stopped for a moment under one of the street lights. Gently she lent up against the post and looked up at the light. Faintly in the distance she heard the sound of running footsteps. The running got louder and louder until she saw the person. They had blood on their clothes and on their face.

"Hey, are you okay?" Said Cherry as she walked over to the person.

"Please... I just need help" Replied the person as they fell to their knees.

Cherry drew closer and closer to the person until she realised it was her brother.

"Gabriel... what... what happened?" Stuttered Cherry as she knelt on the floor with him.

"I don't know... I was jumped and attacked by someone... they were on about our parents... and something to do with an accident" Replied Gabriel as he started to pick himself up off the floor.

Suddenly there was a laugh close by. Cherry looked at Gabriel with fear in her eyes. Both Cherry and Gabriel started to walk down the path. It seemed like forever until they heard...

"Nice to see you again... Gabriel" Said a voice from behind them.

Quickly they both turned around and started backing away. A man stood in the shadows with a baseball bat in his hand. The man started to walk towards them. Gabriel stood in front of Cherry to protect her slightly. The man came right up to Gabriel and glared at him.

"I see the two of you are still alive... how surprising" Said the man as he grabbed Gabriel's shirt collar.

"Your parents will pay for what they did to my family" continued the man as he threw Gabriel to the ground.

Gabriel glanced up at the man, but still he remained on the floor. The man glanced towards Cherry. Her eyes still cover with fear. She slowly started to back away. Until suddenly, she slipped and smashed her head against the ground. Gabriel has shock on his face. The man started to laugh histaricly.

"That was almost to easy" cried the man under his laughing.

Gabriel has tears forming in his eyes. He felt rage coursing through his veins. Gabriel tried to stand up but was too weak from the attack before hand. Then the man walked off and left Cherry and Gabriel laying on the floor. Gabriel managed to pulled himself up and walked over to Cherry. He bent down and picked her up. Gabriel looked at her in his arms then started to walk back home.

After about half an hour they were home. Their parents were in their study working on buissness. Gabriel carried Cherry up the stairs and into her room. He placed her down on the bed and stayed next to her on the floor. Gabriel placed his head onto her bed and slowly started to drift off to sleep. Soon after their parents came in the room and where shocked to see Gabriel still covered with blood.

"Gabriel what the f**k happened?" Shouted their Dad.

Gabriel shook his head slightly to wake up. Then he slowly stood up and rubbed his head.

"I don't know... I was attacked by someone eailer... saying something about you two and an accident" Replied Gabriel as he walked over to them.

"What about Cherry?... what happened to her?" Replied their Mum.
