Turns out I really had no real friends. When I asked my parents if any ‘friends’ came by, they frowned and said no though it may be the fact that they kept my accident a secret. The only people who knew were the teachers and the principal. The rumor was that a family member had been involved in an accident and needed our support so we flew out of the country to support our family. Also, they said I was the one who was closest to the family member so I stayed. Little they know that I was the one involved in the accident.

I was strolling down the hall looking for the canteen when I bumped into a hard chest. I looked up to see it was Micale. Shim! This is not good! Before he could see my face I ran away. The good thing was he didn’t follow me. Who knows what’d happen if he knew why I was in the hospital wearing a hospital gown. ‘What was he doing here?’ My mind screamed.

I was catching my breath when a nurse stopped by me.

“Darlin’ you ok there?” She said, it was heavy with her southern accent. Why is life so cruel to me? Well, I can’t really avoid people from the south but ugh! I was breathing hard trying to breathe. Shimmy puffs! I’m hyperventilating.

“Shucks! Help, this gal here is hyperventalatin’! Hun relax. Breath deep. In and out.” She said. I couldn’t concentrate with her southern drawl. Others came to help her and brought me to my room.

When I got back in my room my family looked shock. Now here I was, sulking like a child while my dad scolded me. I just wanted some mango juice was it wrong for me to want some or get some? I wasn’t listening to him rant anymore then I spotted a book in the corner. I stood up and went to get it. I was about to walk out the room when a hand stopped me.

“Where are you going Lave?” Reed asked.

“To the garden. I want to read my book there. I can’t concentrate when dad is ranting about safety or whatever” I said nonchalantly.

He gave me a skeptical look and seem hesitant but let me go. “I’m giving you an hour. If you’re not back. I’ll come get you myself and tell the doctor you need to stay here for a few more days.” He threatened me.

“Fine!” I huffed, annoyed how they’re overprotective of me. “Now let me go” I said and jogged towards the garden.

I found a good spot and sat down. To say the view is beautiful would be insulting. It was more than beautiful. Words couldn’t even describe its beauty. I was lost in my thoughts when I heard a thump. I peeked out to see Micale sitting at one of the benches close to my spot. Just my luck! Micale is here! How will I get out of this one if he sees me? I mean its fine to be in a hospital but to be wearing a hospital gown? Not so good. I was thinking and praying when I heard him say, “Beautiful.”

Was he referring to me? I was confused. He won’t see my face from my position only my legs if I decided to stretch them out. Then it struck me that he was referring to the view. “Beautiful isn’t enough to describe it.” I said unconsciously. I heard him gasp and I sucked in air. Shimmy puffs!! Stupid Lavender! Stupid stupid stupid Lavender! Why did you have to say it! Blasted mouth!

“I agree. Words can’t describe it.” He replied softly, over the initial shock.

“Yeah.” I agreed. “So what are you doing here?” I asked, curious why I met him here,

“I work at a pharmacy and they tasked me to deliver medicine to this hospital.” He stated.

Oh! That’s why he was coming from the cashier. Why of all days would he be here when I was here? Come on! I’m not even that bad and now I’m being punished. I was annoyed. I hate you life. I stuck my tongue out at the air and realize how relatively stupid I look.
