It was graduation day now. I haven’t been able to talk to Micale. He didn’t try neither did I. I was too busy with college preparations and getting Lilly situated with the fact she missed years of her life.

I guided her and helped her get the ropes. Lilly was a smart girl, smarter than me, and was able to get everything in a short period of time. In fact, if an outsider looked at her it seems like she was never in a comma. I liked that, she was independent and strong. She has her occasional weakness but nothing that bothers us too much.

Rebecca was going to study with me in Harvard taking the same course. She was planning on taking over their business as I was planning to take over mom’s agency. I was going to take online courses about fashion designing because mom was already teaching me. I just wanted to get another reference.

Harvard was close enough that I could visit weekly. Becky and I decided to get an apartment together. It was a 4 bedroom apartment with 4 bathrooms. One public and the other 3 were situated inside the rooms. It was spacious and was good since Lilly was planning to study at Harvard after she graduates high school.

Reed was expanding Eden’s Restaurant and was getting busy. He was planning with dad and interviewing potential staff. They were especially careful on who to trust with the managerial position. They were thinking of having the manager take over when they can’t.

My life was getting good. The mishaps have been over and I’m stronger than I’ve been before. I even decided to visit Shawn in prison. I went to see how he was doing. To say he was shocked was an understatement. He was getting better and finally owning up to his mistakes. Though I didn’t visit him to gloat, I just wanted to thank him for that incident.

If not for him I wouldn’t be who I am.

‘It’s never about the destination; it was always about the road you take to get there.’ I quote.

I stopped regretting and wishing for things to turn out differently because I knew that if it didn’t happen that way I would never be as strong as I am now. I learned so many things and made my mistakes. I grew up and learned that things were never the way we see it.

I was so proud of who I am now. I may have been knocked down while I was walking to get to my destiny but I’m standing and now will be sturdy than ever.

Maybe all I ever needed was having faith that everything will work out because eventually it will. It may not have the strong impression but someday it will work out. You just need to have faith and trust that life will give you a better outcome than what you have now.

For those who are like me, I say trust life a little bit more. You never know what it has planned for you.

“Lavender! We’re going to be late if you don’t get your butt down here!” Becky shouted.

I smiled at my reflection. “Look at you. You made it.” I whispered.

“LAVENDER!” They shouted.

“I’m here!” I shouted back and went down stairs. “Geez! Keep all of your undies on. It’s not like I was just getting up.” I said to them. They complained to me but I just smiled at them.

We were now situated on our seats as the graduation proper started. It was boring for most but I was excited. “Now, we will have your representative to give us a speech. The representative has the highest GPA among all the students graduating this year. Let’s give a big applause for Ms. Lavender Fernandez.” Mr. Maypole said.

A lot of students were shocked to know that I was the representative. They thought that just because you were blonde means you’re stupid but I proved them wrong. No one knew that I was smart; they all thought I was just a girl demanding attention.
