After that song Micale sung for me we never had any more contact. He never texted and we ignored each other at school. It was like we were strangers again. It hurt but after the first month I got over it.
Now, two months later I was preparing for the singing competition which was held on June 30. I only had 5 more days to pick a song and practice. I was thinking of backing out but Becky made sure I didn’t.
“Just pick a song already because I’m sleepy! It’s already 1 in the morning! I swear you are so irritating! You’re voice goes with every damned song that it makes me so envious!” Becky said. She was annoyed. We were currently trying to pick a song for the competition. We only have to prepare one song but I was having trouble over picking.
“If it was that easy I would have had a song already!” I shouted back at her.
“It is. Just randomly pick a song so you could practice and I can plan on how to use the prize money.” She whined.
“You were always in it for the money!” I complained. “I hate you.”
“I know you do! Now freaking choose a song and get this shit over with!” She replied. I, being a child, crossed my arms and pouted. “That is not getting you anywhere Lavender. Now choose!” She shouted. I didn’t speak just turned my back at her.
“Fine! Be that way. Don’t go crying to me when you don’t have a song to sing.” She stood up and left the room. When the door closed I threw the pillow at the door.
“It’s not like I wanted to enter!” I was annoyed. I mean, how hard is it to pick a damned song? I guess it is because I am so clueless as to what to pick.
I was frolicking around my bed when Becky burst in my room. “What?” I asked annoyed.
“Emergency! Lilly is awake. Get your butt here. We’re going to go, you bitch!” She said.
“WHAT? OK!” I replied. I didn’t care what I wore I just ran down with her to see my family waiting impatiently for me. “Sorry. Let’s go.” I said and we all hurried to the car.
“What happened?” I asked.
“You dad was going to sleep when he received a call. He didn’t mind it because it was an unknown number. The person on the other line was persistent and kept calling so dad answered and it was the doctor of Lilly telling him she was awake.” Reed explained to me.
“Ok.” We all sat nervously as dad drove to the hospital. It was quite nerve wrecking since the hospital was an hour away from home.
An hour later we were walking in a fast pace to get to Lilly’s room. We burst in the room to see Lilly watching something on the T.V. She smiled when she saw us.
“Mom, dad, Reed and twin. Hey Becks.” She greeted with her chirpy attitude.
One by one they went to her bedside. Mom and dad fussed over her. Becky looked relieved as Reed. I was standing by the door looking at her. She was smiling as they questioned her. The doctor came in after a few minutes.
“Hi. Lilly is in a good condition. Now we are going to asses her memory, ok?” He said to my parents.
They nodded and the doctor came to Lilly. “Hello, I’m Doctor Elton and I have a few questions to ask you.” He said slowly. Lilly looked at him from head to toe then nodded.
“What’s your name?” He asked. Lilly answered. They went on and on. “Ok, she is good. No memory loss but since she missed 4 years of her life someone should guide her and explain to her what she missed when she was a comma. Other than that she seems good. We’ll keep her for another night just to take tests to see if she’s fit enough and doesn’t need therapy.” The doctor said and left us with her.
