I was dancing with Becky when Reed tapped my shoulder. “Mom wants you upstairs in your room. You can take Becs up too.” He shouted over the music.
“Gotcha.” I was excited to think it’s almost time to meet Micale. It has been an hour already since I saw his gift and I was really really excited.
“Hello sweetheart. Go take a shower. I got your outfit out and your shoes ready. I’ll do your make-up and Becky love could do your hair. Now go. We only have an hour.” My mom pushed me towards the bathroom. At this point I wouldn’t argue with her. In fact I’m hurrying myself. I want to see Micale.
When I was done showering I went out. “Mom I’m done.” I said. She pulled me and sat me in front of my mirror. She started on my make-up while Becky was hair drying my hair. I sat here for 45 minutes until they were done.
I was instructed to close my eyes when they started and now 45 minutes later I opened them. I was shocked was an understatement. I touched the mirror. “Who?” I asked.
I looked different. My hair was in an elegant bun and some hair flowed in the sides which were curled. My make-up was beautiful. It made my eyes look so doey and emphasized my beautiful green eyes. My lips looked so kissable. I was beautiful.
“No time to waste darling. He’ll be here in 15 minutes. Get dressed.” I wore the dress Micale got me and saw that it came with matching shoes. After dressing myself I looked myself. I was hot.
“You look beautiful honey.” My dad said from the door.
“Hi dad. I do, don’t I?” I asked.
“You do. Now go with your father. He’ll bring you to Micale.” My mom ushered us out.
“Mom what about the party?” I asked. I couldn’t leave the people who came here to celebrate with me.
“Don’t worry honey. They’re getting entertained by your brother and they all understand. We already told them you’ll be leaving early for another birthday party.” Mom said pushing us until we reached my dad’s car.
“Ok love. Be careful please. If you get back late you know where the key is.” Mom said and kissed me.
“Ok mom. Thank you.” I replied and hugged her tight. You’ll never get parents like mine. I was lucky with them. Always supporting me and having my back whenever I need them. “Love you mom. I really appreciate this and everything you’ve done for me.” I said. I was getting emotional.
“I know. Now go.”
“Hey before you go I need to tell you something.” Becky shouted and pulled me away from my parents. “Be careful. I put what you need in your purse and no don’t take a look at the car if your dad sees it he might have a heart attack. I’ll be staying over so tell me all the juicy details when you get back.” She said and laughed at my face. I stuck my tongue out at her and got inside my dad’s car.
“Dad how did they get you to agree with this idea?” I asked. My family was overprotective but my dad was the worst. He was like a lion ready to attack anyone who’ll get too close to his cub.
He sighed and said, “You know how persuasive your mother is. I couldn’t say no to her for the life of me. They told me you weren’t dating just that Micale liked you is all and I gave him the talk.”
I groaned. “Dad! Seriously? We aren’t dating and you didn’t have to do the talk!” I whined.
“Honey it’s done and over with. At least he didn’t bail on the last minute plus the kid is good and sooner or later you’re gonna be dating and you won’t be my little girl anymore. You’ll be someone’s angel.” He grumbled. So that was his fear.
