EPISODE 2: THE FIRST MISSON - CRAZY ALWAYS HAS BEEN MY BEST TRAIT
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•

"Today I'm going to teach you about resonating souls with more than just your teams of three." Mifune said. He was standing in the front of the room next to the desk with one container of swords on either side of his desk as well as one in a sheath on his back. There was a little girl sitting on his chair and Fang had told me she was a witch. "Ox, would you care to draw the best way to link up on the board?"

Ox got up from his seat in the front row and moved to the board. While he was drawing I glanced down to see what I had written so far. It was everything I knew about the school and the people in it and it only amounted to a little over a quarter of the page.

I looked back at the board and tuned into Ox. "You want to create a chain like this." I cocked my head at the singular line drawn on the board.

"Very good Ox." Mifune said. Ox went back to his seat.

"Excuse me, sir, but that's not quite right." I suddenly remembered something from my biology class I had learned while studying ecology.

"Please explain, Dragon." Mifune looked confused, as did most of the class. I got up from my seat in the back row and moved down to the board.

"Well, when you have a singular line like this you only have to take out one and the whole thing crumbles. Like this." I erased one of the links in the middle with my thumb disconnecting the chain. "Instead of one long chain it's better to create a web with varying connections." I drew five circles and drew lines to connect each one to at least two other. "Now, if you erase one it still stays together."

I turned around to see the whole class staring at me. "I see. You're right, Dragon, a web is better." Mifune looked impressed. I nodded and headed quickly back to my seat.

"That was impressive, Dragon. How did you see that or where did you learn it?" Fang asked in a low voice.

Sometimes I wondered if he could read my mind. "Biology class while we were studying ecology. We were learning about food-chain related stuff." I replied.

"So weird and yet so true." Fang replied. Suddenly I heard a loud beep sound. I jumped slightly, even though I had heard it before.

"Will Miester Dragon and Weapon Fang please report to the Death Room." The announcer said. I quickly got all my stuff together and spun my bag onto my shoulder. Fang was in the end of the row so he had to get out first.

We walked out and I waved at the teacher before closing the door behind me.

"Wonder why Lord Death wants to see us." I wasn't really asking a question so much as commenting.

"Don't know. Might have to with Monday's attack though." Fang replied.

"Probably." I replied.

"As I'm sure you guessed, this is about the attack three days ago." Lord Death was standing in front of us. Spirit was off to the side again and Fang stood on my left.

"What about the attack, Lord Death?" I asked.

"Well, the two of you have had no real time to practice as partners since then, so I am sending the two of you on an easy mission." Lord Death answered.

"Cool. What's our mission?" Fang asked.

"There have been reports of three separate kishins all in northen Arizona. I want you to go and take care of them. Simple as that." Lord Death said.
