"Um...professor Stein? Can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked. The last period of the day had just ended and all the other students, Fang and Alex included, were trying to get out since it was Friday.

"What can I do for you, Dragon?" Stein set down his papers and stood up, pulling out a cigarette.

"I was wondering if you could help me practice my soul attack. I've only used it a couple of times and mostly on accident. I'd like to control it better." I explained.

"Sure. You busy tomorrow?" Stein asked.

"Not really." I replied. "Just planning on doing homework and stuff."

"Good. Then come to the school. Black Star is coming for some extra practice and you are welcome to join us." Stein said. I nodded.

"See you tomorrow then, Professor. Bye." I waved and walked out. I headed for Fang's apartment, though it was only to get my stuff.

"That everything?" Fang asked. I nodded.

"Should be." I answered. I reached for the last box, but Fang grabbed it first. I raised my eyebrows in question.

"You'll hurt your back if you take any more. Come on, I'll give you a lift." Fang said. He led the way out of his apartment and I looked back in. Alex looked smug, standing in the kitchen doorway.

The house itself seemed girlier and it didn't really suit it. Not a lot had changed so far, but I figured Alex would be remodeling as soon as all my stuff was gone. "See you around, Dragon." She said. I kept walking with my back to her, but held up a hand and gave her a two fingered wave.

Fang was already on his bike when I got out. I jumped on behind him and he shot off. "So I heard you talked to Stein. Something wrong?" Fang asked, glancing at me.

"No. I just wanted a little training in using my soul wave length. No biggy." I answered.

"Be careful if Stein has you fight Black Star. He might not fight fair." Fang warned.

"Sure." We fell silent. "Hey Fang? Does Alex know about the Black Beast tattoo on your shoulder?" I asked.

"No. You're the only one aside from my family. Though I would prefer if you didn't mention it here where someone might hear." Fang didn't say it meanly.

"Of course, sorry about that." I fell silent again and shortly after we pulled up at my house. I looked up at the roof as I got up. I handed Fang my helmet but he pushed it back at me.

"Hang onto it for now. Alex doesn't like riding." Fang smiled and I smiled back. My smile faded as he drove away.

I sighed and dropped my head onto my hands. I was up on the roof of my apartment. I wasn't the only one on the second floor: I wasn't sure, but Maka and Soul may be the other ones.

"Hey. What are you doing up here?" I looked behind me to see Maka. I smiled at her as she joined me.

"Just thinking. What about you?" I asked.

"I come up here when Soul drives me crazy." Maka said.

"Happen often?" I asked. She shrugged.

"Since our fight with Ashura it's been happening less. So, why are you here? I thought you were staying with Fang." Maka said. I nodded.
