EPISODE 12: ASHURA'S LAW - OUR BLACK MUSIC

I jumped and tossed Soul at Maka. We were on the roof practicing a new move: scythe switch. She tossed Jeremy at me at the same time. I tried, as did Maka, to catch my weapon but missed and we both crashed to the ground.

Both weapon clanked as they hit the roof then transformed back into their human forms. "You've gotten better." Jeremy said and I stood up. Soul pulled Maka up.

"Ya, but I wonder why it doesn't work. All our souls are compatible so what's the issue?" I asked dusting myself off.

"Maybe it's just a timing issue." Maka suggested.

"Maybe. Anyway I'm fairly sore and it's getting late. We should head to bed." I yawned and Jeremy smiled.

"Deal. Practice again tomorrow?" Maka asked. I nodded.

"Deal." I answered.

"Maka, Soul, Kid, Liz, Patty, Black Star, Tscubaki, Crona, Jeremy, and Dragon, welcome." Lord Death said. We were all waiting in the Death Room having been pulled out of class for it.

"Hey Lord Death." Maka said brightly as everyone gave a greeting to Lord Death. Crona, the only one I hadn't met, was a shy boy with pink hair. He didn't have a weapon partner with him and stood close to Maka.

Maka and Soul were to the right, Kid and his weapons were in front (Kid with his arms crossed), Black Star and Tscubaki were on his left, with Crona on Maka's left and Jeremy and I on her right.

"Why'd you call us here Lord Death, me and Jeremy inparticular as we aren't part of the team?" I asked, turning back to Lord Death.

"Because you are going on a mission with them to kill a kishin dangerously close to becoming a true kishin like Ashura was. Now do you see why I'm sending my best miesters and weapons?" Lord Death confirmed with me.

"Indeed, Lord Death." I nodded.

"When do we leave?" Kid asked dropping his arms.

"Now." Lord Death answered. We all nodded and moved to leave. "There's still one issue. You have to find and finish this kishin fast. To much longer and we could have a repeat of what happened with Ashura." Lord Death warned.

"Leave it to me, Lord Death. I, the great Black Star, have surpassed God and could finish him in my sleep." Black Star gestured at himself with his thumbs and I rolled my eyes. Crona flinched and moved a little closer to Maka when he did it. I paused and waited while they went ahead.

"Lord Death, I should tell you, Tundra is staying here." I mentioned.

"Alright. Would you like me to send someone to check on him?" Lord Death asked.

"No, no need. It might be dangerous. Besides I don't know how well anyone else could handle him." I smiled and Jeremy and I headed out.

"I think you're spending to much time with Black Star." Jeremy said, looking back at me from a few steps ahead.

I laughed and streached. "You know, sometimes I wonder if I don't spend enough time with him." I answered. Jeremy stopped, shocked into silence. I laughed even harder and kept walking past him.

"Are you crazy?" Jeremy asked.

"Without a doubt in my mind." I answered before I took off after the others.

I yelped as I hit the wall, but Kid stepped between me and the kishin before it could attack me and fired at it. I started up, but the fight was already over. Black Star had gotten a hit as had Crona (who's weapon named Ragnarock official scared the heck out of me), but it was Maka that ultimately finished him off.
