EPISODE 9: FANG'S FIRST MIESTER - WHY CAN'T I KEEP MY BEST FRIEND?

I woke up just about to scream. I'd been having my nightmare almost every night. It's the same one I had on my first mission with Fang. I yawned and looked around. Fang was still asleep and I sighed. We were a week into our trip and so far only had one good clue to follow.

"Fang, get up. We need to get going." I shook him awake. He blinked and sat up. I smiled at him and pulled him to his feet.

"Morning." He said.

"Afternoon." I corrected. He paused and looked at his watch.

"So it is. Why'd you let me sleep for so long?" Fang started packing up.

"You were tired." I answered.

"Alright, let's go. We need to go check out the forest." Fang pulled his bag onto his shoulder and I did the same. We jumped onto the bike and Fang shot off.

"So, how far away are we?" I asked.

"Only about an hour." Fang said. I nodded and fell silent. After a minute Fang said "Is everything alright? You know I'm here if you want to talk." Fang said.

I nodded and smiled, even though he couldn't see it. "I'm fine. Just had a bad dream is all." I replied. Fang cast a glance back at me, but let it go.

I got off first and looked up. The cave entrance was only 10 feet wide, but was at least 30 feet high, likely higher. "Whoa. That's an entrance." I said.

Fang took of his helmet and nodded. "You ready to go?" He asked. I nodded.

"Yes." I said. Fang joined me and we walked together into the entrance. I faltered outside the entrance, something warning me away. Fang stopped a step ahead of me and took my hand, guiding me inside. We kept walking hand in hand. I was instantly captivated by the pictures and drawings on the walls.

I let go of Fang's hand as the passage started to open up and moved over to an image. I touched it and there was a flash of blue. For a split second I saw a bunch of people and behind them was at least as many dragons of various colors, much like my little friend but more powerful. A woman and a man right in front smiled.

I gasped as I pulled back and felt two hands on my shoulders, steadying me. "You okay?" Fang asked. I nodded.

"Ya. I think I saw ... my parents. I'm going to touch it again. I don't think the vision was over." I said.

"It's not dangerous, is it?" Fang asked.

"Not unless I somehow get pulled into the rocks." I replied. I took a breath before setting my hand back on the image. Again there was a flash of blue, but this time felt different.

I saw the crowd of people all talking with their backs to me. I could see colorful semi-transparent wings and tails on everyone in the crowd then noticed my own. My wings were a blueish purple and fluttered slightly as two people turned around.

I blinked and everyone vanished save for the other two with the same blueish purple wings, the people I believed may be my parents. The women smiled. "Hello." She said, except her mouth didn't move.

I opened my mouth but she shook her head. "Don't talk, or you'll have to leave." She said.

"Then how do I..." I trailed off as she smiled and I realized she could hear me thinking. "Oh. So...um...are you my mother?" I asked. She nodded.
