EPISODE 6: WITCH IN TRAINING - MY NEW FRIEND IS A WITCH
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•"Hey, Dragon. When are you going to join the living?" I blinked awake to the smell of smoke and barbecued food.
"What?" I sat up on the couch and rubbed my eyes. I could see my team all around the living room and kitchen. Suri and Jade were making something while Shadow and Fang were at the stove barbecuing. Violet shook my shoulder slightly.
"Glad you're up. It's almost time to eat." She said.
"Okay. Great." I said. She smiled.
"How's your arm?" She asked. I glanced at the clean, white, mummy-style bandages on my right arm starting at my elbow and going to halfway up my palm, not touching any of my fingers. For a split second the shadows in the lake that had injured my arm flashed into my mind, accompanied by its dying scream from when Justin Law had killed it.
"It's okay. Hurts, but all things considered, good." I answered, shaking it off. I stood up with Violet.
"Come on, you two. Time to eat." Fang called from the kitchen. Violet walked into the kitchen and I glanced once back at the couch before following her.

"Having this was a great idea, Jade." Shadow was laying sprawled on the couch with Fang. I was sitting on a chair next to the window. Suri, Violet, and Jade were all sitting on pillows on the floor.
"Thank you. It seemed like a good idea after our trip to Shadow Lake." After she said it everyone looked at me. I knew why, but I still didn't get it. I knew I had gotten hurt, but it wasn't like the name bothered me. Unless Fang had told them about my nightmares. I hoped he hadn't.
"Guys, it's fine. I don't care. It's been two weeks since we got back." I said, deciding to put an end to it.
"Okay. This is not why we got together. So, who's ready for the exam?" Violet asked.
"Wait, we have an exam?" Shadow asked doubtfully. Suri, Jade, and Violet all gawked at him.
"How could you not know?" Violet asked. "It's about the second most important test in the entire school year!"
"Why is this test so important?" I asked.
"It's the first quarter final. We have one every quarter, but the first and last are the most important." Jade explained.
"Oh." I said quietly. I looked out the window and felt a witch's wavelength not far off. Just a street over in a courtyard. "Guys, I'll be right back. I'm going to take a walk." I said carefully.
"Right. Be back soon. You don't want to miss desert." Fang teased. I smiled.
"No, I don't, so don't any of you dare eat mine." I ordered before closing the door. I pulled my typical shoes (black, low-rise horseback riding boots) and started down. I didn't worry about keys for the door.
I reached the courtyard quickly, but in the thirty seconds it did take I felt two more witches join the first. "What are they doing in Death City?" I thought. I slowed to a stop and peeked around the corner.
The three witches were standing in a circle. One I recognized as Light. Another I remembered learning about in class: her name was Eruka. The other looked little and had a black and white vertical stripped cylinder dress on.
They whispered something and suddenly three symbols were burned into the walls and one on the ground between them. The three of them disappeared and I crept out into the courtyard. I spun in a full 360° circle. No one was there.
