Accidental Confession

A/N: I know I haven't updated in a while, but I had major writers block, as you may be able to tell from this horribly written chapter. I just needed a filler chapter before I start the second to last arc.
Lucy's POV

I was finally back in the dormitory with the others. Laxus hadn't come back yet, but right now I wasn't worried about him. He was probably either still stuck in Blue Pegasus or...actually I don't know what else...

"Luke? You okay? You're spacing out," a hand was waving in front of me, snapping me out of my thoughts and startling me.

"Oh! Zeref...,"

"You sound disappointed"

"W-wha...no I'm no-"

"Haha! Calm down! I'm joking!"

He laughed half heartedly as if he was exhausted.

"Are you alright? You look tired," I said. He sat down on the couch and put his face in his hands.

"Yeah. I'm really tired. I've been worrying..." he said. I saw his ears turn a bit red.

"Worrying about what?"

"You."

"Me?!"

"Yeah."

Zeref's POV

I didn't know if i should tell her why...I mean...she'd probably get the idea that I was jealous, which would be accurate but I couldn't just openly say that!

I didn't like the fact that she was with Laxus...I don't like the fact that she willingly complied to his wish. Does she like him? Was that it?

"Ugh..."

"Huh?," she voiced her concern with that tiny reply. I didn't realise I was showing my frustration.

"Ah! Oh! It's nothing really. I guess I'm just a worry wort, Huh?," a let a weak smile grace my lips, then my gaze fell to the floor.

"Are you sure that's it? You know you shouldn't worry about me! I can take care of myself!," she said with a huff. I looked at her and saw a small pout on her face.

"Cute. "

"H-HUH?!?"

She jumped up with a bright pink face, and it was only then that I realised I said that out loud.

"A-AH um...," my cheeks were burning and my stomach felt like it was twisting. I was looking around for something to make an excuse but...the damn room was empty.

"Ah...well...," should I tell her?

She'll think I'm strange...but wouldn't it be weirded if I didn't explain...

"Ah! This is frustrating! Why'd I have to go and fall in love with someone I live with?!!"

"W-W-WHAT?!," she yelled with the reddest face I've ever seen. 

"I said that out loud d-didn't I?" I was grasping at my hair praying that she was just startled.

But...unfortunately...

She nodded her head bashfully.

"Oh...OH. Ah dammit! I'm sorry! I m-mean...a-ah...gosh..."

I don't even know what to say!!!  I'm so stupid!!

My thoughts were so busy...I didn't even realise she left.

Lucy's POV

I shut the door to my room behind me and leaned against it. My face was burning red and my stomach felt like I just got off a roller coaster.

He loves me too?! Natsu really wasn't over exaggerating that one time.

Him of all people...I didn't really expect it.

I don't know how I'm going to deal with this. I can't just leave two guys waiting for a response...

But

'Knock Knock'

(A/n: WHOSE THER-////slapped)

"Lucy..."

I hesitantly opened the door to be face to face with Zeref. He was flushed pink and his hair was disheveled as if he was grasping it.

"I...um...I'm sorry. I must've startled you when I said what I said," he bowed 90 degrees and proceeded to speak, "please forget I said anything"

"Huh?!" I get that he was embarrassed, but telling me to forget about it?!

"It's just that I-"

"NO! I won't. I can't. I mean...maybe you didn't mean to say it...sure, but I can't just pretend like I didn't hear it. It's how you feel and you should be honest about it!"

He seemed taken aback a bit. I looked down in embarrassment. Somehow saying that made me feel awkward.

"I'm sorry. You're right...in a sense. I shouldn't have told you to forget about it."

I smiled slightly, "I'm gla-"

I stopped in the middle of me sentence because he took me by the waist and pulled me closer, "I shouldn't have told you to forget about it...because i seriously want you to consider my feelings. I know that some of the others love you too, but I don't want to lose to them. I've already lost so much in my life...I don't want to lose you too."

His words made my heart wrench. I really don't know what to do. He's so close. I...

"WE'RE HERE!!!!"

"Huh?!"

Zeref quickly let me go and went to greet the others. "Where have you guys been? I thought you came back with Luke but you just disappeared."

"We went to the communal bath."

We had one of those? I never knew.

"Anything interesting happen while we were gone?," Sting asked sitting on the couch.

"Not really. Just...talking," I said.

"You hesitated. Did something happen."

I smiled sheepishly, "of course not~"

"LIAR!"

"IM NOT LYING!"

"You better tell me or I'm going to attack you!"

"You wouldn't!"

"I would!"

"Seriously...? You're acting like kids..."

"WHO'RE YOU CALLIN A KID, ROGUE?!"

Sting began chasing Rogue...

And the conversation was forgotten.
