No Longer the Little Brother

"W-WHAT THE HECK?!?"

"KYAAA!!" I shrieked. I crouched down onto the floor holding my knees to my chest. He found me out!!

"L-Luke?"

My face was burning red in embarrassment. "...y-yeah?"

"You're a...girl?"

"Yeah...I'm sorry."

I looked up at him and saw his face go even redder than before. "A-ah..."

He was staring at my chest. I squealed. "TURN AROUND YOU PERVERT!!" He turned to face the wall and I put on an oversized t-shirt. "You can look now," I said. He faced me again with his usual sad-like expression. "My real name is Lucy, just so you know."

"Why did you keep this a secret?"

"I can't let anyone know who I am. If everybody knew, then my father would find me and take me away again."

He sat down next to me. I could tell he was a bit uncomfortable with my 'situation'.  "In my opinion, you should've at least told the 7 of us. I mean, we are suppose to like a family here right? You can trust us with something like that. At least I would hope.," he said with a small smile in his face. "I know," I said looking down, "but I can't. I just can't risk any more people finding out. Five people already know! That's five too many!"

"Five?"

"Sting, Rogue, Erza, Aku, and yourself."

He hummed in acknowledgment. "I guess I can understand."

I raised my eyebrow in a challenging manor, "how so?"

"You'll keep it a secret, won't you?"

I nodded. "I promise"

Zeref locked his fingers together and looked at the floor.

(IF YOU HAVE NOT READ CHAPTER 436 OF THE MANGA YET THEN DO NOT READ!! SPOILERS!!!)
"Do you know the legend of a Wizard that lived 400 years ago? Where a man questioned why people live and why people died?," he glanced at me before continuing, "Well...let me tell you. There was a boy who never quite understood why people were born and why people lost their lives. He studied and wrote papers on the subject. People were impressed but the ministers told him that it was a taboo subject and that the god of life and death would be angered. He did not listen. He wanted to find a way to understand so that...so that...he could bring his brother back to life. But instead of reaching his goal, he was cursed by the god of life and death. A Curse of contradiction. The more he loved, the more things around him would die. He killed his parents accidentally with this. He did not want to hurt anyone else. He wanted to die. So he created demons that would be able to kill him. The strongest one being implanted into the corpse of his younger brother. A human body and soul with a demon curse. He raised his newly resurrected brother and loved him, but he was again taken from him. The man lost it and ended up killing everyone in the village. He roamed for 400 years killing everything, earning him the title of The Dark Wizard. He was an evil man. Until he found his brother once again by some miracle and became a better man. Lucy, do you know who that story was about?"

My eyes were wide and I was shocked as I hear what he said next.

"That man is me"

I jumped up in fright. He's the Legendary Dark Wizard! The one people have started wars over to 'resurrect' him! He...

"Lucy..." he stood up and took a step forward, but I stepped back. He looked at me with sadness. His eyes were glassy.

"If you really are him, then...how come...how come I can't feel such immense power coming from you?"

He rolled up his sleeves and pant legs to reveal magic limiter bracelets. They're usually made for prisoners. One bracelet can restrict the magic power of the average man. For someone like a dragon slayer, or another strong wizard like myself we would use seven. But he...he had 9. On each limb. (A/N: They're thin)

"They were given to me by the magic council. In exchange for them, I have to work with them or join a registered alliance guild after I graduate," he said pulling his sleeves and pant legs back over the bracelets. I relaxed a bit. "You really...aren't a bad person, huh?"

I stepped closer to him. "You just wanted your brother back."

Then realisation hit me like a rocket. "NATSU IS YOUR BROTHER!"

"Yes. I resurrected him about 400 years ago. He was taken away from me and sent through a portal taking him 400 years into the future to be raised by a dragon. I found him after Igneel left him and started to live with him again. But when he turned 15 I told him what I did to our parents and he hated me. Until just a few weeks ago."

"But...he's a demon?"

He shook his head, "no. He is human. He had a demon seed inside him that will awaken if I open the book of E.N.D. But i don't intend on doing that because I no longer intend on dying!"

He looked like he wanted to cry, which is nothing new, but this time he looked broken.

"I still don't know if bringing him back was the right thing...I mean...if someone gets their hands on the book of E.N.D. I don't know what I'd do," he grasped his hair and tears trailed down his cheek. I couldn't just watch him. Although I was still afraid, I stepped closer to him and put my hand on his shoulder. I pulled him closer to me and hugged him.

"I think you made the right choice. You gave him another chance at life. And now look at him! He has lots of friends now and a bright looking future. This is all because of you! Yeah you made some mistakes, but its all in the past. Just look towards the future!" He pulled back and smiled through his tears. "Yeah," he placed his hand on my cheek, "I guess I should start looking at the future." I blushed a bit at his gentle touch. He stepped back and turned away, walking towards the door. "I'll go tell the others that you're okay."

"Yeah. And Zeref?"

He turned back to look at me. "Yeah?"

I giggled saying, "I guess I'm not your little brother anymore, eh?"

He shyly looked to the side with a bit of pink on his face. "Yeah...I guess so." He looked up and smiled, then exited the room. I sat back down on my bed and picked up my celestial keys.

'Maybe...maybe I should tell them...'

Alright. Sorry that it took me so long to update. Like I said, I've been in Europe for the past three-ish weeks. I hope the chapter is okay. I kinda had no clue what to write. I realised every time someone finds out about Lucy it just becomes a freaking sob story. Lol. Anyways, NEW COVER GUYS!!! It's much neater and easier to read the title now!! I like it a lot more than the last one.
