Callis sat in the library, studying a book on "Princess Etiquette", she needed at least one good grade before they sent the letters to the students parents. Another new addition. Maybe she was meant for evil, or just not to be here at all.. She might just be here because of her name. "Callis of Camelot" the daughter of one of the most famous ever after's. An ever after her parents never let her read in the first place.
"What you readin'?"
Callis looked up. Andrew?
"Oh studying." She looked back down, pursing her lips. She wasn't a very social person. In most situations, she really hated people. Vanessa was usually an exception, but before this they knew their places. Vanessa was going to be evil, an elegant evil like her mom taught, and Callis would be a princess. Preferably a princess with no man, living in a tree house by herself with thousands of books.
And woodland creatures, she was good with animal communication. But so was everyone else. (Excluding the majority of the boy's who had signed up looking for an easy class)
"Studying what?" Andrew raised his eyebrows and sat down across from Callis, crossing his arms and leaning over the table to look at the text.
"Princess Etiquette" Callis answered, mocking their teacher. Ms. Basberry, an old crone who had replaced Pollux. She had a high voice and the slightest accent.
Andrew smiled, "And don't you ever forget, wave your sword to the left, handle in your palm, not your wrist!" Andrew replied in a tone mocking Professor, Espada. Callis broke out in laughter, "That, was AWFUL!"
"How would you know, you don't have sword have Swordplay" Andrew's smile was huge, and may I mention, contagious?
"I wish I did, it's probably better then, Sit up straight, which is the salad fork! It was one of the sign up classes, and I didn't know it was an option.." Callis rolled her eyes and leaned back in her chair.
"And it's not like I need any of this, even if Tristan was to not be king, Vanessa would get the throne. Which leaves me third in line. Unimportant, boring." Callis looked back down at the book, Andrew's smile flipped upside down, he wanted to tell her that wasn't true, but he didn't really have the courage to flirt.
"No wonder you're here instead of eating lunch." He answered, pulling out two brown bags from a satchel on his side.
"Foooooood" Callis reached forward, snatched a lunch bag and ripped it open.
Turkey sandwiches. Callis grabbed a sandwich and began to tear through half of the sandwich before stopping, and looking up at Andrew, whose big brown eyes were staring. Crud. Callis began to daintily eat her sandwich.
"No wonder the bad grade in Etiquette" He laughed, earning a swat from Callis.
"Thanks" She smiled, Andrew nodded back "No problem"
"And you're not Unimportant, or boring" He whispered, staring at his own lunch bag.
Callis heard him, her face turning pink, her own glance on her sandwiches.
The two later began to talk again, joking and laughing.
"Lunch tomorrow?" Andrew offered as they began to walk back to class.
"Sure!" Callis brighted up, walking into Good deeds class, with a smile.Professor Dovey smiled herself, thinking of her own famous smiling student..
