Agatha knocked on the open doorway to the dual office, where both her and her husband worked. "We got a letter.." She smiled, shaking a yellow envelope. Tedros glanced up, a face of worry washing away.
"From...who? We get letters all the time Aggie, why is this so import-"
"It's from our daughter, Teddy!" Agatha interrupted, pacing forwards to the messy desk in front of Tedros. He gave an unsure nod, eyes red and morning shave from three mornings ago beginning to show. All in all, he looked tired. Very tired.
"Come on, all you've done is reading, and what are you even reading?" Agatha begin to reach forward, Tedros shook his head, sending his fist thrashing forwards getting the letters to fly away from her. Agatha's face drained of color, who was this inside Tedros? Her sweet sweet Tedros?
"It-it's nothing, we can read it later.. This is more important" He turned away, back to his dark corner, picking up the scraps of paper and swirling his cocoa again.
"What's in that? It doesn't smell like choco-"
"Its nothing. Just go, Agatha!" Tedros shifted his glare back to his queen, "Just go, I don't want you to see this." He stood up, deciding to take his own leave instead, he clutched the paper to his chest, sipped his drink before walking away through a secret corridor down the stairs. Agatha watched with worry, she scooped up the cocoa cup and sniffed.
Alcohol.
