I woke up at around 3 a.m., I had to pee and I was horny as shit. Selena was still sleeping, her and I weren't sleeping in the same bed since she had a 2 bedroom apartment. Sometimes she came in my room because she either had a nightmare or she was scared.
Once I got done peeing, I heard my phone ringing in my room.
It was Veronica.

Veronica : hey, you seen the shit on insta?

Veronica : just look at it.

After I commented what I had to say, I called Diego.
It rang 3 times before he picked up.
Diego : you calling to tell me Sel is coming back to me and she don't want you shrimp dick?
Diego said laughing. I sat there for a minute before answering.
Me : nah, I called to tell you ima be flying out to L.A. to beat your ass senseless. do you know what you did to her? some of the time she won't even get of fucking bed. she thought you loved her like she loved you. psh, turns out she was wrong..
Diego : i know what I did dude! you don't gotta keep telling me the bad shit I did to her over and over again, ethan! I already feel like an asshole. I've been doing xan's again... im going down the wrong path again and I need help.
I put my head in my hands and sighed.
Me : listen dude. If I bring Selena back out, you gotta promise me you won't do some dumb shit to her ever again. got it?
Diego : ight, thanks bro. when you gonna come out here?
Me: in a couple days. i gotta go, i ain't tryna wake Selena up.

I didn't even notice Selena was standing in my door way.
"Hey, ma. What's up? Did I wake you up? I'm so-" before I could finish she cut me off.
"I heard everything, Ethan. Why would you do that?" She asked, frustration in her voice.
"Diego is back on xan's.. the person who can help him, is you. So please do it? Not for me but for Diego."
She shook her head out of anger.
"Fine.. I'll do it. For Diego." She walked towards my bed.
"Can I lay in here? Please. I need your presence." She had puppy dog eyes.
I patted the spot next to me.
After she layed down next to me, she got close to me where her head was on my chest. I put my arm around her.
"Goodnight, Ethan." She said with her eyes closed.
"Goodnight, ma." I rubbed circles around her arm and fell asleep with her in my arms. _________________________________________
Next day
"I booked our flight. 2 days from now, we depart at 4:30." I told Selena with a smile.
"Ok..." Selena kept her eyes on the tv.
I got up from the computer and went to the kitchen to grab a snack.
There's was nothing to eat or drink.
"Aye, ima walk down to the corner store. You want something?"
"Hot chips and a Dr. Pepper, please." Selena begged, with that cute smile of hers.
"Ok. Be back in 10."
All you could hear in New York was cars honking and trains. Some people yelling, laughing. A lot of shit went down in New York. But I liked it here. It felt good to get away with my best friend.
I had been hiding something from her. And it was that I was starting to catch feelings for her.
While I was in my thoughts, I wasn't looking. There was a car honking and the next thing I knew, everything went black. _________________________________________
