Change it up and give her mixed fur or something. Like black and brown. That would be a change and something else. Then the same goes for the boy and the alpha. Sometimes he's both.

Does she really always get the alpha? Why can't it be the Beta or just a normal pack member? Spice things up and give someone the lowest ranking: omega. That would be so cool. See different is cool.

One thing I do like about mates it their pull towards each other. Their bond is special to me, but don't make everything evoke around the mate bond. You know what I mean?
So little advice, I think you should make her mate an Omega. I've never read a book like that, it'll be very interesting.
