I don't know why people are always scared to kill their character.
In my opinion I think that you should at least kill one character. Why? Well, it adds more drama to your book. Why do I want more drama? So that it excites your readers and you don't have a boring story.
Personally, I don't like drama, but when you are writing that is exactly what your are looking for. More drama.
By creating drama, your readers will want more and they would like to know how the characters handle this issue. As long as it adds to the plot and not just drags on and on.
So go ahead and kill someone.
Okay that came out wrong, what I meant was don't be afraid to let someone die. In a book. Better? I hope.
By someone I mean one of the main characters. Make it someone that no one would predict.
I love those twists in books!
[Update]
Reading this chapter again, I facepalmed myself. I made it sound like you should just kill off characters left and right for the drama. Guys I think maybe I was just annoyed at someone's character and wanted them to just die, so I vented here that writers should kill. I apologise thats not what I meant entirely.
I should add that it you shouldn't just randomly kill off a character if it doesn't add to your plot. I feel most tv shows just kill someone because they don't know what else to do and this should not be a reason. This rant was just me saying you can kill your character, remember to make it meaningful you want your readers to feel something. But you don't have to have a death in your story. It's your story :)
