10th Doctor x Donna - Babysitting

(This is a AU by the way where the daleks never attacked cause they were lazy and donna stays with the doctor forever 😋)
The doctor was in the TARDIS library reading a book about music while donna was out having a catch up with her friends, she told them that she has been busy at her long lost brother's so that why she didn't see her friends and after the chat she was about to leave when one of her friends stops her
"hey donna, can you do something for me?" her friends says
"sure, what is it?" donna says
"well later i'm going out with some friends for the night and i have no one to look after baby Eva so i was wondering if you can" her friend explained
donna thought about it and then funny things came into her head about the doctor looking after a baby, he said he looked after his children as babies but not with the face he's got so she thought it will be fun
"sure me and my brother aren't doing anything tonight, i just need to phone him to see what he thinks" donna says and she takes out her phone
she goes outside the cafe she was in with her friends and she calls the doctor's number, back with the doctor and she was still reading his book when his mobile rang and he picks it up to see it was donna
"hey donna" the doctor says happily "what's happening"
"hey, i was just wondering if it's ok with you" donna started
"yeah" the doctor says
"that if we can babysit for my friend" donna says working he'll say no "she has nobody to look after her baby since she used to ask a friend to look after her but she's on holiday so she was wondering if we can"
"how old is she?" the doctor says
"she's 1" donna says "she can sit up and crawl around too if you were wondering"
the doctor thought about it and after a few seconds he says
"ok...but if it's sick or anything gross, that's your job"
"oh thanks for that" donna says "your such a good...brother" donna says as her friend comes out so she hang up
the doctor wasn't quite sure why she called him brother but it was better then husband so he shrugs it off and puts the mobile on the sofa he was on before carry on reading
"so what did he say" donnas friend says
"he says it's fine so when do you want me to pick her up?" donna says
"right away" her friend "my party starts at 4:00 and it's 3:45" her friend says
"ok let's go" donna says and she sets off with her friend to pick up Eva
after a while donna was dropped off at her house with Eva and she goes to the TARDIS that's parked in the garden
"i'm back" donna says walking in the control room
"hi donna" the doctor says and gives her a hug "and who's this" he says after the hug
he bends down a little to meet eva's eyes and he boops her nose making her laugh
"this is eva" donna says "she's the one that was christened that one time when you were trying to stop the mossman getting to the church"
"oh i remember that" the doctor says "i never really got to see her beacause i was really mucky"
half a year ago donna was called to eva's christening but at the same time a mossman was on the lose and the doctor managed to stop it while the christening was happening by making it eat a bomb before it got to the church, he was really mucky and as the service ended donna meets him and they head to the TARDIS so he can have a wash while donna washed his clothes
"yeah she's grown since i last met her" donna says
"well don't all babies" the doctor says "anyway i'll show you to the baby room so you can put her in there"
"why does the TARDIS need a baby room?" donna asked following the doctor
"for things like this" the doctor says and point to eva
"has it ever been used?" donna says
"nope but the TARDIS is cleaning it up now as we find it so if we can't find it, she hasn't finished cleaning it yet" the doctor says
"why didn't you do this while i was coming?" donna say
"i did and...oh here it is" the doctor says as he found the room
the room was all colourful with baby things all over the place like a dream baby room, donna puts eva in the baby pen while the doctor was leaning on the door frame and donna gives eva her favourite toy from her pocket which is a cute teddy bear, the teddy was a chocolatey brown colour with a cute face and a little warn out, eva looks at her teddy for a few seconds then she hugs it happily and then she sees some more toys in a toy box so she goes over to it
"aww" donna says
"yeah...wanna cup of tea?" the doctor says pointing with he thumb to the kitchen which was down the hall
"sure i need one" donna says and they head to the kitchen leaving eva in the baby room, the doctor and donna reached the kitchen and the doctor started the kettle while donna sat at the table
"so how long we got her for?" the doctor asked leaning on the kitchen counter with his arms crossed
"till tomorrow morning" donna says "can you handle it?"
"yeah i can handle a baby" the doctor says "just...don't let me do the cleaning up"
"ok i won't" donna says "this might also help in the future when i have a baby"
"yeah i can see that" the doctor says giving donna her cup of tea and sitting opposite her
he can see in his mind a small ginger haired baby giving everyone a death glare when it doesn't get its own way and when it's older it will boss people about and shout 'oi' all the time, this made the doctor chuckle and donna looks at him
"what?" donna says
"i just was just thinking" the doctor says
"when aren't you?" donna says cheekily making the doctor look at her weirdly and making her laugh
"anyway" the doctor says "i was thinking, if you do have a baby does that make me an uncle?"
"what?" donna says
"well you said on the phone eariler that i was your brother so i was wondering" the doctor says
"well you can be if you want to" donna says "i think i see you more as a brother then a husband anyway"
"that what i thought when you called me brother" the doctor says happily
"well now we know, you are now my brother" donna says
"and as i'm older i get to be first at things" the doctor says cheekily
"what?! no fair" donna says acting along
the doctor laughed and donna smiled then they heard eva making noises
"should you check her or shipbuilding i?" donna says and takes a gulp of her tea
"i do it" the doctor says "but if she been sick or nappy problems, i'm calling you over" and he leaves
donna sighs and she takes another gulp of her tea, when the doctor reaches the baby room he sees that eva was crying so he goes over to her
"aww what's the matter?" the doctor says as he leans on the baby pen
eva looks at him then looks around like she's lost something then cries again
"you lost something?" the doctor says "what have you lost?"
he looks around the pen to see what's missing then he remembers that she had a teddy bear that donna gave her
"your teddy" the doctor says "you've lost your teddy"
eva looks up at him again like she was saying 'yes i have but i don't know where's it gone' and she starts to cry again but the doctor stops her
"don't worry, we'll find...him...her...it" the doctor says not sure on the teddy's gender "anyway let me check the toy box" he says and he steps over the pen gate and goes over to the toy box
he opens the toy box to see all the toy that were in there were still there but they was no sigh of teddy
"where did it go?" the doctor mumbles to himself as he looks around the room
the doctor couldn't see the teddy anywhere and he looks at eva who was about to cry again but he stops her but putting his finger near her mouth
"shh shh shh" the doctor says quieting her which seems to work "i will find it i cross my hearts that i will find it before you go back"
eva looks at him and then smile a little but then frowned again
"umm...oh here, take this" the doctor says and he takes out of his jacket pocket a different looking teddy "it's not like your teddy but it'll do for a while till we find your other one" he puts the teddy in front of her
the bear the doctor gave her was a light brown colour with a bow tie on, cute face and looks brand new, eva looks at the teddy in front of her and then she pulls it closer then she nibbles its ear, the doctor smiles then leaves eva to go find donna, back in the kitchen donna was cleaning out her empty cup when the doctor runs in
"oh i was wondering where you've got to, spaceman" donna says "what's happened?"
"eva's bear is gone" the doctor says sorta tired so he take a gulp of his still hotish tea
what do you mean gone?" donna says
"it's just gone" the doctor says "i've looked all over the baby room for it but i can't find it anywhere so i have to give her one i had in my coat pocket"
"what do you think it's just walked off somewhere" donna says
"yep" the doctor says simply "well...i don't know but it wasn't in the room when i looked"
"well let me look then" donna says "those 900+ eyes might be failing on you"
"oi! don't take it out on the eyes" the doctor says putting his feet in the table and leaning back "i got good eyesight thank you very much"
donna just laughed then she goes to the baby room while the doctor drinks his tea, donna goes to the baby room to see eva chewing the teddy that the doctor gave her and she smiles, she then looks around the room like what the doctor did and after looking for a bit donna couldn't find the toy neither, she scratches her head in confusion then she sighs and goes back to see the doctor again, when she gets there she sees the doctor grinning at her
"found it?" the doctor says still with his legs on the table and he was crossing his arms
"no i couldn't find it anywhere in the baby room" donna says "i think it has walked off"
"well...there's only one thing to do" the doctor says getting up from his place
"and what's that, spaceman" donna says
"we need to scan for it, come on" the doctor says and he springs off
"but how?!" donna says "it's a teddy not a human"
"i have this" the doctor say peering at the door and he holds up his screwdriver
"how's that going to help" donna says and the doctor was about to say something but then donna cuts him off by donna saying "and in english dumbo"
"i'm going...to scan eva's mucus, saliva, dribble whatever you want to call it and track down wherever it's gone" the doctor says as simple as possible
"well ok then lets get to it" donna says and they both head to the baby room
when they get there they see that eva had fallen asleep from tiredness and donna goes over and picks her up, the doctor puts his screwdriver at her mouth then it starts beeping
"it's that way" the doctor says pointing left while donna was putting eva to bed
after donna puts eva to bed they start running to where the screwdriver was and they ended up in the doctor's bedroom, donna didn't think he had a bedroom since he rarely slept
"didn't know you really had a bedroom" donna says when they go in
"yeah but...i don't use it much, i'm like a lion but except being able to cope for not eating for a week, i cope by not sleeping for a week" the doctor says focused on his screwdriver
"your room is very...messy" donna says looking around the bedroom where they is a lot of mechanical parts
"yes sorry about that, i like to build things when you're asleep, keeps me busy" the doctor says then he looks under the bed "ah ha there it is" and he pulls out the teddy from under the bed
"how did it get here?" donna says confused
"don't know but..." the doctor says and he was about to say about having it now and let's take it back to eva but then he felt really drowsy
"doctor? what's the matter?" donna says concerned
"don't know but... i'm going to sleep now" the doctor says and he gets into bed "good night" and he falls asleep
"doctor!" donna says going over to him "it's not time to sleep"
then she tries to take the teddy out of the doctor hand but he had a tight hold of it
"ah ha ha" a voice says "i'm not budging"
"who are you?" donna says looking around for the voice
"why? i'm eva's 'teddy'," the voice says and then the teddy gets up
"what have you done to the doctor?" donna says kinda mad
"oh i just put him to sleep for a moment till you can what i want you to do" the teddy says
"and what's that?" donna says still a little mad
"find me my music box!" the teddy demanded
meanwhile in the doctor's mind, the doctor opens his eyes and looks around, he sees that he's in some time of place where everywhere is white, he gets up and puts his right hand near his mouth
"donna!" he shouts but there was no reply
he then hears voices that sounded like donna but there was someone else there too
"and what's that?" the doctor hears donna say
"find me my music box!" demanded the other voice
"musicbox?" the doctor says to himself and he didn't realise that donna and the teddy could hear him
"doctor?" donna says
"donna" the doctor says "who are you talking to?"
"i'm talking to the teddy and are you sleep talking?" donna says
"what? eva's teddy" the doctor says
"yes that teddy, it want it's music box but i don't know where it is or what it looks like" donna says
"the music box is a gold colour with my picture ingraved on the lid, when you open it it play a song of my people and it's very preciousto me" the teddy says "now find it for me!"
"ok keep your head on!" donna says "doctor?"
"we'll help if you wake me up and you tell us where was the last time you saw it" the doctor says
"ok" the teddy says and he moves away from the doctor and he wakes up "ok that's better now where is it you last saw you music box?"
"i don't know, you see i was with the music box when i was being sold in a car boot sale, this lady bought me and that was the last time i saw my music box and now i'm stuck with an baby that can't help me so can you" the teddy explained
"umm...sure i guess" donna says "are you going to help too doctor?"
"yeah gives me something to do" the doctor says "anyway what's your name"
"my real name is palaunu but the baby calls me brownie" the teddy now named brownie says
"oh nice to meet you brownie now do you have a sample or something so we can track down the music box?" the doctor says
"i do remember the song and it's from my home" brownie says "let me hum the tune"
brownie hums the tune and it sounded lovely (you can make up the tune or you can listen to random one if you type in 'music box music' in youtube) after the tune the doctor recognises it
"oh! that the song from the planet of oyuncak-ayi" the doctor says "i've heard that music when i was at a party, come on to the control room" and he zips off
donna grabs brownie and they go to the control room, when they get there donna puts brownie on the drivers chair
"so what are you going to do after we find your music box cause eva really loves you and she was worried sick when you disappeared from her" donna says
"no i'll stay with her" brownie says "i know she dribbles on me and teethes my ears but i love her company"
"ah-ha i found it" the doctor says "it's located a few miles away from here in a mansion looking house"
"oh not there" donna says realising where he was taking about
"what's wrong with 'there' it's just a mansion" the doctor says
"but that place is haunted...so i heard" donna says "and there's also a story about that place too"
then they both heard eva screamimg happily in the baby room
"sounds like she's awake but she didn't sleep long" donna says
"maybe her sleeping pattern has gone off" the doctor says "some human babies do that sometimes, i read it in a book"
"oh? and are you saying that human babies are different to your home world's babies" donna says 
"a little" the doctor says "like example time lords rarely sleep so when your a baby they rarely sleep so you got to entertain them for quite a while till they get tired out"
"so how long is that?" donna asked
"a whole day" the doctor says remembering the time his mum and dad telling him that it took a whole day to put him to sleep
"wow they must be really active" donna says
"sure are" the doctor says then they hear eva scream happily again "i'm going to get her so then you can tell this story, be right back" and he runs off
he goes into the baby room to see eva being entertained by the mobile on the top of her bed, the doctor smiles since he knows it was the TARDIS that was entertaining her and he goes over to the cot, eva sees him and she stretches her arms out like she wants to be picked up, the doctor picks her up and takes her to the control room where donna is, when he gets there he sits on the floor crossed legged and he puts eva on his legs
"we're ready for the story" the doctor says cheekily
"ok so..." donna starts out "there used to be this lady that lived in the mansion and she wasn't a social lady by any means, she did come out of the house to get food and mail but when she sees a person looking at her she will give an evil stare, then she'll go back into the house again and then i think it was a year ago now but she died, they've tried to sell the mansion but everyone who tries to live there ends up moving out after a few day and when people asked why they always say ghosts, also lately the ghost have been more active and people have said that you can see them in the windows and they could hear crashing and banging inside the place"
"sounds interesting" the doctor says "i'm going to look out for these ghost"
"are you a ghostbuster now?" donna says mockingly
"weeelllll...maybe" the doctor says "anyway let's go and get this music box" and he gets up with eva in his hands
"but what about eva, we can't leave her here on her own" donna says worried
"your right, we can't so let take her with us" the doctor says and grins
"what!?" donna says shocked "but she'll get scared"
"well if she does we can calm her down" the doctor says giving eva to donna and grabbing brownie
he puts brownie in his pocket and donna looks at eva who is still happy
"...alright but what do we put her in" donna says "i can't carry her all the way"
"hold on..." the doctor says and he bolts off inside the TARDIS
when he returns a few mintues later he had a baby carrier in his hand
"use this" the doctor says and puts the carrier in front of donna
donna puts eva in the carrier and then she picks up the carrier
"why do you even have a baby carrier?" donna says as they go to the TARDIS door
"as i said before, i'm always prepared for these thing?" the doctor says happily "come on then allons-y" and they set off
donna was a little happy that it was night when they walked to the mansion since if it was day people will come up to them to see the baby and say what a cute family they were, donna didn't really like that people thought they were a couple but she it was funny that the guy from pompeii thought they were siblings so after that it kinda stuck with them, when they get to the mansion it looks dark, creepy and off putting
"well...this place is...certainly creepy" the doctor says
"i can sense the music box inside" says brownie from the doctor's pocket
"shall we go?" donna asked knowing the answer
"yep" the doctor replies "allons-y!" and he bolts in
donna sighs and she follows him inside with eva still in the carrier, when they get inside it was very dark so the doctor pull a torch from his pocket and he does a little flip catch with it to show off, then he hands donna one
"ok i look down here and you go upstairs" the doctor says to her "and if you see a ghost, just scream or shout my name"
"will do" donna says and they split up
the doctor was in the living room looking around and everything in the room was dusty, the doctor looked around from the fireplace to the chairs to see if there was any recent movement from the furniture but he couldn't see anything offso he moves on to the kitchen but he doesn't know that there's something in the shadows watching him, meanwhile donna was upstairs and she was checking out the master bedroom, she looked around while eva was chewing her fingers, donna puts the carrier down as she sees some pictures on the dresser and as she was doing that she didn't notice that the buckle in eva's carrier came undone so eva climbed out of the carrier and she went to go look for the doctor since he had brownie
"ok so this lady used to have a husband and a baby girl living here with her a long time ago" donna says to herself "but then she was alone so what happened to the husband and baby"
as she turns around she then notices eva was gone
"eva!" donna says and she looks around "where did she go?"
donna looked all over the master bedroom but there was no sigh of her anywhere so she panicky checks the other rooms, back with the doctor and he was checking out the kitchen, he looks in all the cupboard and cabinets for the music box but nothing but then he sees a book on the kitchen table and he goes to check what it is, he opens the book and it was a photo album with many photos of a lady, a man and a baby, the doctor looks at the pictures and he can see how happy the family is but when he gets further into the photo album the sadder it got, first there was no man, then the baby was gone and it just left the lady all alone and she looked really sad, then a noise caused the doctor to jump a little and he shined his torch around only surprised to see eva next to his leg
"eva!" the doctor says and he picks her up "what are you doing here? you're supposed to be with donna"
eva then stretches out her arms to where brownie was in the doctor's pocket and the doctor gives brownie to her
"there you have your teddy now let's go find..." the doctor says then he was cut off by the basement door swinging open
a strange ghost like figure is at the door that looks like the lady in the pictures but it had red eyes and it was snarling
"my family!" the ghost says angrily and she darts toward the doctor and eva
the doctor runs and he goes upstairs where he finds donna in the baby room
"doctor?!" donna says before the doctor hides her behind the waldrobe
"shh" the doctor says "we found the ghost"
the ghost floats into the room and takes a while to look around then leaves again, after it goes the doctor, donna and eva pop out from hiding
"that was close" the doctor says
"what did that ghost want?" donna asked while she was wiping herself down
"it wants me and eva" the doctor says "it thinks we are the man and baby the lady of this house lost"
"do you think it's the ghost of the lady that lived here?" donna says looking at the doctor
"maybe but i need to investigate" the doctor says "we need to go down into the basement"
they go to the basement door and they stare down into the darkness below
"it's a little too dark down there" donna says
"you afraid of the dark? donna" the doctor says teasing her
"no!" donna says "stupid spaceman" she muttered
"you and eva stay here" the doctor says "i go down and check what's there"
"ok but if your not here in 20 mintues or i hear you scream i'm going down too" donna says
the doctor nods and then he heads down into the basement, when he gets to the bottom step he looks around with the torch to see a lot of old items that were dusty and cobwebs all over, he looks around some more but then he hears a noise like a music box type of noise from the corner of the room so he goes to check and he finds brownies' music box still in mint condition
"ah-ha!" the doctor says loudly so donna could hear it
"did you find it?" donna asked
"yeah..." the doctor says and he opens it for the music to play "and it still works too"
"well come on then so we can get out of here" donna says
the doctor puts the music box in his coat pocket and turns around to find the goats of the lady standing at the basement stairwell
"hello honey" the ghost says "where are you going?"
"oh well...i was just...going to the pub to get a pint" the doctor says and grins
"you what?" donna says "doctor what's happening down there?"
"oh your not going anywhere" the ghost says "your staying here with your child" and she walks closer to the doctor
"thanks for the offer but A- that isn't my child, she's my sisters friends child and B- if you want me to stay i suggest redoing the house, this place is a mess and might give you sneezing fits"
the ghost snarls and then the doctor decided that his que to leave so he bolts to the stairwell and goes upstairs
"what's happening?" donna says
"ghost, that's what now let's go" the doctor says and they bolts to the door
they get there and they try opening the door but it was locked
"oh no we're trapped" donna says
they turn around to see the ghost standing there snarling at them, they started to panic but then donna notice eva wasn't scared
"doctor! look at eva" donna says and the doctor looks at the baby
she wasn't scared or anything and instade she was clapping her hands laughing happily, then the ghost stopped snarling and started to smile
"oh my baby" the ghost says softly "i miss her so much"
then the ghost changed into a white ghost looking monster with big eyes and hands
"oh your a smhost" the doctor says "what are you doing here?"
"i want...my baby" the smhost says "i don't know where she has gone but i want her back"
"what happened?" donna asked
"the lady of this house was meant to take care of her for me but she died and somebody took my baby away" the smhost says
"was it the husband who took her away?" the doctor asked
"yeah and now i don't know where he is and if he knows" the smhost says
"oh i know all right" a voice says then a man pops out holding a gun
"you twit no guns in front of a baby" donna says
"don't care" the man says "now that you revealed yourself i can get rid of you and finally sell this stupid house"
"where's my baby?" the smhost says "where is my belle!"
"don't you remember, she was shot by that cranky neighbour cause she kept going on his front lawn all the time" the man says
the smhost couldn't believe what she was hearing
"i don't think she saw that" the doctor says "and i think that neighbour though her baby was a homeless kid"
"yeah i remember reading in the news that homeless kids were breaking into people's houses for food" donna says "oh my god that poor child"
"and when she died you left the lady and the lady lived here on her own suffering with grief, she then died from the grief getting to her and this smhost had no idea the whole time" the doctor explained
donna slowly walked over to the smhost and comfort her, the doctor went over to the man and point the gun at him
"now please, drop the gun" the doctor says softly
the man still pointed his gun but he lowered it slowly till he dropped it on the floor
"now let's get out of here" the doctor says and he opens the front door
they all head outside and they look around to see that it was starting to get dawn
"well...see you" the man says and he walks off to then disappear in front of the doctor and donnas eyes
"was he a ghost?" donna says in shock
"yeah i guess so and he was stuck in the mansion till he could tell the smhost here about her baby" the doctor say
he then turned around to see that the smhost had disappeared too
"aww well, let's go to your house" the doctor says "your friend will be there soon to pick up eva"
and with that they head to donnas house and stayed there for a bit and played with eva till donnas friend knocked on the door
"hey donna" donnas friend says "has eva been good?"
"yeah she's been a star" donna says and she lead her to eva who was being entertained by the doctor
"oh and this must be your brother" donnas friend says
"yes this is john noble but he prefers people calling him the doctor" donna says and her friend shakes the doctor's hand
eva then sees her mum and she stretches her arms out, donnas friend picks her up and she heads to the door
"well...see you soon donna" donnas friend says
"bye and bye eva" donna says and she waves at eva with the doctor waving and saying bye too
eva then understood what was happening and she got a bit sad
"doc...tor" eva says "doctor"
donna, the doctor and donna friend look at eva as she kept saying the doctor's name
"she spoke" donna friend says happily "and i thought she'll never speak"
the doctor then went over and picked up eva again, he gave her a hug and then gave her back to donnas friend again
"i'll see you soon ok" the doctor says softly to eva
eva smiles and then she went off with her mum to the car
"so what's it like to be a baby's first word?" donna says as her friend was out of sight
"very rewarding" the doctor says and they then went back to the TARDIS
they went in and then they decided it was time for a sleep after a long night looking after a baby, they both fell asleep in their bed and were asleep for a while.
