Chapter 5 - Surprise

Spencer

    Baby, you sound good to me...

BAM!I turn my phone alarm off and drop it in the ground.Ugh.I just want to stay in my bed all day, this headache is killing me.

     I get up, take a shower and put a simple white t-shirt, a black leather jacket and jeans.I go downstairs, drink a coffe and eat an apple.

     Then, I remember Toby.Oh, Toby...The sweetiest guy I've ever meet.Okay, what?

       My parents are in work, and Melissa...Well, I really don't have idea if where she is.I heard a knock on the door and open it.It's Toby.Holy crap.

        "Hey", I say.

         "Hi"

         "Come in", he walks into the room and sits in the couch. "So, why you are here?Something wrong?"

         "No, nothing is wrong.It's just ... I want to know if you are okay.I mean, after yesterday...after that.

        I can feel my cheeks turning pink.I hand him a cup of coffe, and take a deep breath.I hear the "thank you".

         "Yes, Toby.I am okay, really." I smile and he drinks the coffe "But how about you?I hope you aren't mad at me."

         "Why?" he asks calmly "I can't be mad at you."

         I look down.

         "It's crazy, really." Toby says, shaking his head a little. "Because, we don't know each other.Enemies for years, friends for days." he laughs and I bite my lip.

         "Hmmm.....but our friendship will", I am interrupted by a knock in the locked door. "Toby, it must be Melissa.Please, can you...you know...I am sorry for it" I whisper.Why me?

            "It's okay Spencer, I understand about The Jenna Thing.Alison can be in Georgia for the last 3 years, but no one will see me like before." he whispers and hide in the kitchen [A/N: In my book, Ali is in Georgia for the last 3 years, not dead]

            I open the door and get scared.Isn't Melissa.It's the last person I want to see now.It's Alex Santiago.
