Chapter 35 - Open Casket

Spencer

Emily stifles a scream. Hanna steps back.Caleb freezes, and so does Toby. Alison just stands there, terrified. I swear I hear a "Good luck, bitches." before the woman starts to run.

Alison runs after her and kicks her stomach. The woman groans in pain and turns to slap Ali, but before she can do anything, I jump and grab her arms, we both end falling.

I lost control with the fall.Now her hands are on my neck. The air is leaving me but I just can't let her win - I won't. I kick her right where Ali did.That is going to let a ugly bruise.Great.

But suddenly, when I'm almost taking off the mask, she rolls off and runs. I try to get her, but Hanna grabs my arms. I run over to Ezra and get down in my knees.

"Someone get Aria!NOW!" I scream and the girls are by my side. We try calling the ambulance - it will be there in some minutes. "Ezra.Breathe."

Caleb and Toby run up the stairs.We just stand here, trying to keep Ezra alive.

Toby

As we get to the second floor, the place is empty. There's some furniture - a table and a couple of chairs - but that is all.

Caleb starts walking, looking around the room. I do the same, but suddenly stop.

Now, the scenario makes sense. Two chairs, one table. And, by my side, something that looks like a...casket.

I gasp. Caleb looks up at me and stares at it. He steps back.

I hear a noise. Lights out.BAM, another noise makes shivers go down my spine. A loud scream.And I see nothing.

Spencer

  The lights go out and I scream. Hanna gasps.Alison and Emily move closer to us.

"Keep breathing, Ezra." I whisper. "T-They'll come."

I hear another noise coming from upstairs.Shivers go down my spine.I grab Hanna's and Ali's hand, which is connected to Emily's.

A terrifying scream. I stand up, walking back until I feel something sharp touching my arm.I turn and relief invades me - it's just a piece of glass in the middle of nowhere.

"S-sorry." Hanna says. "I didn't want to scream. "

"It's okay, Han." Ali says.

"You are not the only one." I whisper.As I finish my sentence, the lights are back.

Toby

   I blink repeatedly. Caleb's lantern is on the ground. He grabs it.

   " There is something...here." I try opening the casket.

    "Let me help you." Caleb tries to open it.

     I gasp as I see what's inside it.
