"Hey look a Tilt-A-Whirl." Lindsey said, pointing to it as they headed away from the swings.

"You've been on a Tilt-A-Whirl, haven't you?" Lindsey asked Stevie.

"Yes, I've been on a Tilt-A-Whirl before." She said.

"Well, let's go then." Lindsey said.

All of them got into line.

Lindsey helped Stevie into the car as Mick and John got into the one next to him. He waited until she had sat down before he climbed in and sat down beside her.

"Haven't been on one of these things in a long time." Lindsey said, pulling the bar across their laps.

"Me either. I used to go on them a lot at the fairs when I was younger." Stevie said, leaning back against the back of the car.

"So did I." Lindsey said, putting his arm around her.

He looked over and grinned as Mick and John began to yell "Make out with her!" from the next car.

"Mind your own business!" Lindsey said, as Mick and John laughed.

"I just wanna see something interesting while we wait for the ride to start." Mick said.

"Well, ask John to do something interesting and watch him." Lindsey replied.

"John isn't as interesting as you guys." Mick said.

"Well, thanks a lot Mick! If I'm that bloody boring, get out and find another car." John said, as everyone giggled.

"Nah, I don't wanna be by myself. I need the extra weight when we go up the rises." Mick said.

"Oh yeah, that's right. Remember to lean on the hills, Steves." Lindsey said, looking at her.

"Why?"

Lindsey looked at her.

"Why? You don't know about leaning on the hills?" Lindsey asked.

"Um...no, does something happen?" Stevie asked, frowning.

"Yeah...it spins the car around faster if you lean in the direction the car is going down the hill." Lindsey said. "I thought everyone knew that."

"No, that's the first I ever heard of it." Stevie said.

"Oh, well then you've been riding the Tilt-A-Whirl the boring way." Lindsey said, grinning. "When we get to a hill, just lean over whichever way the car is going and you'll see how much more fun it is that way."

"O...kay." Stevie said, shrugging.

Lindsey looked over at Mick and flashed him a knowing grin as Mick chuckled.

Suddenly, the cars began to move. Lindsey leaned back and grabbed the bar as the cars began to pick up speed. He looked over and noticed they were coming up on a hill.

"Wait until we get to full speed and then do it." Lindsey said. "It's not gonna spin much now that it's started."

"Okay." Stevie replied, nodding.

They went over the first hill and Lindsey grinned as they reached full speed.

"Okay, this next hill, lean in." he said.

Stevie nodded. She watched as Mick and John both leaned to one side as they went up the hill. As they climbed the hill, she saw them spin wildly and heard them laughing hysterically as they spun around and around.

"Okay, Stevie we're going to the right, so lean on me." Lindsey said.

Stevie nodded. She leaned over onto Lindsey's side as he leaned against the side of the car.

Lindsey groaned as they spun around.

"Aw, crap, wasn't fast enough." He said, leaning back.

"Wasn't?" Stevie asked.

"Nah, try it again on this next hill. See if we can get REALLY going."

"Um...okay." Stevie replied, shrugging.

She looked over as Mick and John crested the hill and spun around rapidly.

"Yeah, that's what we want!" Lindsey said, pointing to them as they went up the hill.

"We do?" Stevie asked.

"Yes, we do. Now lean on me again."

Stevie, unsure about all of it, leaned on him as they crested the hill and went down. Suddenly, the car spun around and around as if it were out of control. Lindsey screamed with delight as Stevie clutched him. She squeezed her eyes shut as she felt herself becoming dizzy from staring at the blurred view.

Finally, the ride went back to its normal speed.

"Yeah! That's what I'm talking about!" Lindsey said, leaning back up.

He looked over at Stevie.

"Um, Stevie, you're hurting my arm." He said, as he tapped her on the back.

He grinned as Stevie let go of his arm and opened her eyes.

"I think I'm gonna be sick." Stevie muttered.

"Sick? You? You who does all those twirls during Stand Back and Gold Dust Woman?"

"I wasn't doing them at warp speed, Lindsey!" Stevie said, angrily, as she leaned back against the car and shut her eyes.

"I'm sorry, Steves, I didn't mean to make you sick as a dog. I figured you would be used to going around fast since you did do twirls." Lindsey said, concerned.

"No, no, it's alright. I just wasn't ready for it, that's all." Stevie said.

"Are you gonna be alright?" Lindsey asked, looking at her.

Stevie nodded.

"I need to take a rest though after we get off and before we go to something else." She said.

Lindsey nodded. He put his arm around her and pulled her close as Stevie laid her head on his shoulder. He kissed her head and leaned back as the ride continued.
