As they passed by another shop, Lindsey paused and looked at the sign.
"Soundtracks." He read.
He walked over and read a small sign as everyone else came up behind him.
"Ever wonder how you would sound singing your favorite song?" he read aloud. "Well, now you can find out. Come in and choose from hundreds of different songs. We supply the studio, the lyrics and even some backup singers. Make a tape or a video and be the star you've always wanted to be..."
"Like karaoke?" Stevie said, behind him.
"I guess so..." Lindsey said, shrugging.
He paused a moment and then, walked inside. The others followed him as he went up to a counter and began to thumb through a listing of songs.
"You wanna do this?" Stevie asked.
"Um...thinking about it." Lindsey said, as he looked through the songs. "Actually, I'm wondering if they have any of our songs."
"I'm sure they would. At least stuff from Rumours. she said.
She paused for a moment and then, leaned in to look with Lindsey as Mick and John opened another book.
Lindsey looked over at Mick and John.
"You guys oughta do this." He said.
"Why?" Mick asked, looking at him.
"'Cause I wanna know what you guys sound like when you sing. You guys have never really sung a song for us before."
"And there's a good reason for that, Mate. Because we stink at it. Especially me. That's why I'm the drummer and not the singer."
"There are drummers who are singers though..." Lindsey pointed out. "Phil Collins...Micky Dolenz..."
"Yes and those people can carry a tune in a bucket. I can't" Mick said.
"Aw, come on. Go ahead and do one. You can entertain the wives."
"No, I think Lynn would be tortured rather than entertained." Mick said, as John nodded.
"Well, I think I'm gonna do one. Just for fun." Lindsey said, glancing back at the list.
"Knock yourself out. I'd rather not do it and unleash my horrible voice on the world."
"You, John? You could send it to Chris as a joke." Lindsey said, giggling.
"Nah, Chris wouldn't get the joke. She'd probably fly out to LA just to beat me over the head with the tape." John replied.
"You gonna do it, Steves?" Lindsey asked, looking at her.
"Depends on what they have..." Stevie said.
Lindsey turned the page.
"Ha, ha! Do 'Ooops, I did it again.' "He said, laughing.
"NO! No Brittney!" Stevie said. "I wouldn't do one of her songs if you paid me."
"But, you could improve on the original."
Stevie snorted.
"Sorry, but the original is beyond help. Even I couldn't save it." She said, as everyone laughed.
"How about 'Soak Up the Sun'. You could show Sheryl up." Lindsey said.
"No, I'd rather keep my friendship with Sheryl, thank you."
"How about 'Sorcerer'?"
"Why in the world would I want to do my own song?" Stevie asked, looking at him.
